The thing is Loh, how many of us actually know members of the "left" like that? I don't know any. The people of the left that I know are perfectly normal people who happen to support Labour, and who often dislike the type of extremist you describe as well.
It's like me posting pictures of BNP or Britain First types and saying they are typical of the right. Which, of course is nonsense, as most members of the right in the UK are also perfectly normal people who happen to vote Conservative.

I was brought up to believe the Labour part /socilaism was all about tolerance ,freedom of expression and speech.Looking around their ranks,I dont see much evidence of that.

Despite people wanting to make out this is an extreme example, it certainly is not.
The left is absolutely infested with the millennial university type, that have been hammered with critical race theory and gender studies. The left is currently a cesspit of intolerance and a lack of any fundamental knowledge.
Privileged, sheltered, sensitive outrage-mongers. Desperate to hold onto the notion of racism and sexism so they grip to it for dear life, finding it where it doesn’t exist. Unwilling to debate any sort of political subject as they know they will lose, it’s all about shouting, abuse, chanting and scribbling some rhyme they can’t explain on a picket.
As someone who used to identify with the left, I think it is in the most horrific state it has been in, certainly in my life time. |  |

Oh come on, when I posted anti Corbyn opinions I got some abuse on here. I ditched social media because I was fed up of seeing so much abuse bandied around and on the Walesonline comments section I got dogs abuse for saying I could never vote Corbyn and he would never be Prime Minster.
I'm not even a tory voter, I give most politicians stick but whereas the right wingers on here have posted opinions in return, some more fervent left wingers got quite uppity! | |

I deliberately decided not to adduce evidence of Tory voter hating crap so as not to perpetyate old spats.
Even a cursory check,Hump,will see ritual Tory abuse.
It's almost de rigeur for many on here.
Nobody in their right mind would admit to be card carrying member of the Conservative party;however many will profess lifetime loyalty to the Labour party and hatred for the Tories.
Hopefully,somebody on here will have the guts to admit what I post regarding the Tories.
All that is needed is to start a thread--"Margaret Thatcher was our greatest prime minister".Speak to many she plainly was. Speak to others and they'll admit dancing in the streets when she died.

It’s become very religious cult-like.
Religion to me, apart from the utterly devout, seems to be a lot of people pretending because it makes them feel good. Facts then become irrelevant, discussing the topic is avoided at all costs as it’s really dodgy territory you are on, anyone who disagrees is seen as some sort of infidel and their world revolves around some alternate reality.
