I had the great pleasure of playing in the same team as Ivor when he had brief spell with pontardawe at the very end of his career. I was a young boy of about 18 coming back from injury, playing for ammanford and helping out at pontardawe. The boss told me to make the runs up the line and Ivor will find you.
Ivor never came out of the center circle but never missed a pass all game. Absolutely brilliant on the ball and had the vision to match his ball skills. I remember coming off the pitch thinking he had eyes in the back of his head.... Plasmarl boy as well. God I wish I was as good as I thought I was....
