Anyone had Heart surgery on 08:03 - Mar 3 with 2847 views | YorkRanger | All the best. Different condition but I had major surgery in 2011, using keyhole procedures and (touch wood) I'm in good shape today. As others have said positivity is important. I never allowed myself to think I wouldn't get better. My other tip would be to avoid trying to diagnose yourself on line, if you do that you end up convincing yourself you have a range of other ailments as well. Good luck.

Anyone had Heart surgery on 21:22 - Mar 3 with 2736 views | GloryHunter | I haven't had heart surgery, but I used to have dangerously high blood pressure, and I've had prostate cancer. My wife has survived breast cancer. Modern NHS hospital treatment is fantastic, especially if you're lucky enough to be referred to Guy's / St Thomas's like us. But we've learned there's also a hell of a lot you can do yourself to help your survival & recovery chances with dietary changes. A great start is the book, "How Not to Die", by Michael Greger. I've followed his advice for 10 months (whilst NOT giving up alcohol!) - my blood pressure is down to "high normal" and my PSA readings have dropped back to "normal for a man of my age", thus avoiding surgery. Amazon link here (other booksellers are also available): https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1509852506/ref=asc_df_150985250658685607/?tag=googsh Chapter One is How Not to Die from Heart Disease. Good luck mate.

Anyone had Heart surgery on 16:00 - Mar 4 with 2570 views | HantsR | So sorry to hear of the diagnosis you've described here. I think we all know someone, in my case very close, who've experienced heart problems and had/are having various levels of treatment. All I can offer is what others have done here and comment on how advanced the understanding and treatment of heart disease is nowadays. I hope you can get the best treatment, whatever that might be and your experience is as favourable as it can be under the circumstances.. I was thinking about Heart disease yesterday when I solved the Sunday times Travel Quiz (Where the f am I?). The answers were Ditchling and Ditchling Beacon, the latter I remember so well as it is the last climb, and a beast at that, on the London to Brighton Cycle race that I did in my early 60s. I prided myself that I managed to cycle all the way up that particular hill! The race is sponsored by the Heart Foundation and, partly thanks to the generosity of some super people on this forum, I raised a substantial sum of money for the cause. Along with others on this board, I'm offering you my best wishes to you and your family.

Anyone had Heart surgery on 17:39 - Aug 13 with 2133 views | 2Thomas2Bowles | You'll be fine mate, standard everyday procedure these days... 11 hours op. Pneumonia. Hallucinating for over a week. Wound in my leg from taking a vain out opens up and get sepsis. Hospital for over a month. Come out and find some fecker has renamed the ground, sold off a couple of the best players ( going to regret letting Smith go to Millwall] and a new squad of players called Queens Park Stranges and we are in 4th place WTF is going on? Hallucinating still?

Yikes! Sounds like you've had a tough time. I hope you make a full recovery asap. (Avoid watching penalty shoot outs).
