Trouble at Bristol 15:27 - Feb 2 with 40060 views | jackharris | Lots of fans still being marched to the stadium. And trouble in the ground. Bubble next year? Hope not!
| Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year. | Poll: | What is your favourite Knock? |

Trouble at Bristol on 23:36 - Feb 2 with 4226 views | KrisP | How they let that prick just hop on the pitch, walk over and swing a punch I don't know. I think it is partly down to the fact that stewards these days have maybe only seen crowd trouble on TV. Still, I think this was a fairly minor incident all told. After the game though, I think our lot were mostly to blame. Pushed through an (admittedly weak) police barrier and charged into the park where the City fans were leaving. On the plus side, I think it's a smaller minority than ever who are after this pathetic hard man stuff.

Did it a few times to us i that's why i called it a day on this fixture and so did many others. Maybe back in the day as a teen it wouldn't have bothered me but when you have kids with you it isn't worth the hassle.

Trouble at Bristol on 09:55 - Feb 3 with 3450 views | 1983 | 100's of Swansea City fans arriving late and pi$$ed off they missed the start of the game and rushing to congregate in that corner was a recipe for disaster. And then after the game 100's of Swansea City fans scattering the Bristol fans in the park and then being left to their own devises unpoliced for about 20 minutes. Shocking planning by the Police I can see some plod high up will have their arses kicked.

They didn't when I attended a Bristol Rovers fiasco during the Andy Robinson days. The Head of Operations turned up in the local press claiming things had gone as well as expected and heaped the blame on Swansea supporters. All was well with the world after that. They are OK when there is no potential trouble but Welsh Football supporters are hated in Bristol and the police there invariably cock up when faced with this.

Trouble at Bristol on 10:09 - Feb 3 with 3366 views | STID2017 | Lack of segregation, together with having all those fans come in through one entrance rather than various entrances so they could find their seats. Also the fact they were half an hour late, all fuelled up and allowed to stand on steps, exits, etc. It was a recipe for disaster. Before they came in, it was all banter, then it looked like a rush of fans trying to have a go (it wasn't but you can see how the opposing fans may have seen it like that) and that's when the trouble started. Very poorly policed and stewarded.

The Swans fans came in at both ends of the stand. There weren't any other entrances - unless they files them all through the turnstiles and into the concourse? That wasn't going to happen though.

Of course What I should have said was the poor design of the ground (compared to the South Stand and the Main Stand which both have multiple entrances) was another contributing factor. Why the police allowed a large number of fans to arrive at the ground late (as I'm guessing they had all been visiting local hostelries, rather than just arrived in Bristol) is another contributing factor. I didn't notice the corner near the main stand, but there didn't appear to be any trouble there. Was there ?

Some gesticulating and verbals, nothing more. That end of their stand seemed to be less populated. The netting that was there was removed for the large numbers that arrived to use. I wonder if all those that arrived en masse had their tickets checked, or were they just herded in?

As they have electronic turnstiles, the only way they could have allowed them in en masse would have been to open the exit, which whilst I wouldn't put past them, I can't imagine since Hillsborough is allowed

Trouble at Bristol on 10:42 - Feb 3 with 3180 views | jackportis | Regardless if the police could have done more I must say it was absolutely pathetic if anyone was causing trouble. They should leave the club more than the yanks. I must say I also witnessed a steward (approx late 60s kindly and politely ask a few lads to not stand in the walkway and the abuse he got was shameful. Some moronic people around.

Trouble at Bristol on 10:45 - Feb 3 with 3165 views | SkettyJack | No Problem with BTP who travelled on the trains from Swansea, we heard rumours of an escort from Temple Leads to the nearest Wetherspoons, and that was at midday. We just continued down to Parson Street, not a police officer in sight before the game. Nice walk down to the Nova Scotia, it was too small for a big following so we went up to the cricket club. No bother at all before the game Inside the ground was woefully under policed. Reason for that seems to be they were herding our fans on the crazy long walk from town to the ground. Stewards should have nipped it in the bud but it escalated quickly After the game was a bit moronic, let us out the same time into a police line of 4 or 5 covering the street, and charging 4 police horses down a pavement and into the park was a stupid idea too. I nearly got hit by one when they decided to March into the exiting crowd, but luckily was further away when they ran off Walked back to temple meads with no bother to catch the football special back, which was delayed presumably because the police couldn't get everyone back in time. The amount of bull coming from the stone island brigade on the train was bonkers. Brainless. Decent day out but the police seriously need to look at themselves

One of their fans suffered a broken jaw, it's on YouTube, that's sadly a bit more than you portray. Mind you he shouldn't have been where he was when he was hit. If people want to fight they will. If people don't want to fight they won't. A lot of frustration it seems at this game and if I was the board I would take heed and grip this situation quickly.

Have day off FFS! How is describing what happened in the park as "hilarious" a badge of honour ? It was more like Benny Hill than football factory. Burk!! [Post edited 3 Feb 2019 11:04]

I wasn't there yesterday but those that were pointed this out. The lad runs across from the Bristol city stand and takes a huge punch to the side of his head. Oh well, as I said ...

I portrayed the right hand side (as you were looking at the pitch) as described. I can't comment on the left hand side as it was too far for me to comment on.
