Lukasz Fabianski 19:27 - May 14 with 19814 views | Jackfath | If there's any way the club could hold onto Lukasz then they should make it happen. Captain next year for me. He would be the best keeper in the league and would be a real statement of our intentions.

Lukasz Fabianski on 20:00 - May 14 by jack247 | The relegation clause is largely irrelevant. It’s not binding to us if we want to pay him more. He is going to want PL/top level football though and rightly so. |
When players sign a relegation clause to reduce wages it also includes a sell fee that the player can go for if a club is relegated. This is where the the players pick up a big signing on fee for a reduced transfer fee. Its just not a case of matching wages. Expect some players to leave for ridiculously low transfer fees. The hidden financial effect of relegation.
Lukasz Fabianski on 11:24 - May 15 with 2592 views | Tom1912 | There's no way Fabianski is here next season. He's one of the best keepers in the PL outside the big clubs. One of the best signings the club made in the PL, ridiculous we got him for free.

Yeah I know. That’s not always the case but it’s very typical. The only point I was making (and I know it was obvious), was that in the very unlikely event he wanted to stay, we didn’t have to reduce his wages, clause or not.

I don’t see why if for instance his wages were to remain the same. Why is he going to want PL/top level football? He’s 33 and it’s not really as if it’s going to affect his international chances or stop him going to the World Cup.

Yes it is. Plus you can add the amount of tweets etc he’s made over the last few years enthusing about The Gower where he lives.

I’m not on Twitter, but I’ve no doubt he loves it here. It’s Gower by the way. You are essentially asking why one of the best keepers in the country would want to play in the Premier League.

Now now just because logic is being used. He could go to Europe? Still doesn't stop him coming back later to live (Depending on Brexit of course)

Well you’re confused then. Liking the club and the area are seldom enough to convince a PL quality footballer to play in the Championship

Lukasz Fabianski on 20:50 - May 15 with 2041 views | longlostjack | Normally it's the attraction of big final pay cheque and wanting to play at the top level in your sport. But Darren may have a point. Fabianski doesn't come across as money obsessed and if he likes it on (the) Gower? I'd give him a pay rise even if it makes him the top earner. He'd be worth it. I have a dream.

There’s absolutely no doubt he’d stay with us if there was enough money in it. It won’t happen though.

We've got to have a good crack at getting straight back up. Give him a new contract saying he can leave on a free if we don't go straight back up
