Farewell to the king — Column on 23:24 - Jul 30 with 3412 views | Hadders | Wow, that's an outstanding piece, so good I read it twice. Thank you, Simon. How good is LFW that a writer that thoughtful and observant can step in for someone as ace as Clive? I hope people at the club (who are doing such a great job in many ways) read this brilliant website and manange to ignore the poisonous trolls elsewhere. [Post edited 30 Jul 2017 23:31]

Farewell to the king — Column on 08:48 - Jul 31 with 3077 views | DesertBoot | A lovely report on a truly great day for Stan. To see him reveling in the occasion and thoroughly enjoying himself - the Bournemouth players and supporters joined in too and showed their class. Best of luck Stanley, Rangers legend.

Farewell to the king — Column on 09:54 - Jul 31 with 2949 views | enfieldargh | I had to hold back the tears when Stan walked his lap of honour. Thanks for the superb report. Don Shanks must be emotionally shattered. Nice to know that Gerry is still feels part of this club despite his absence. Loved his ponytail

Farewell to the king — Column on 00:06 - Aug 1 with 2066 views | dachiltern | Great piece Roller. Just one thing left to say...... "STANLEY, STANLEY, STANLEY......." Sod it, I'm now off to wipe the tears away again, cheers Stan and keep dancing to The boys are back in Town, great stuf fella.
Farewell to the king — Column on 08:45 - Aug 1 with 1966 views | beanofire1 | Nicely written Roller. In the clubs video, I can see myself singing 'Stanley' and clapping like a madman as Stan took his last walk at half time. What you can't see though are the tears.

Farewell to the king — Column on 13:12 - Aug 1 with 1809 views | Hooped_Pullie | Didn't think initially that I was going to be able to make it in person, but oh so glad that circumstances changed & I was able to be in SA Road. Very, very emotional day. So wonderful to see him lapping it up, his obvious joy was almost unbearably touching. As has been said already, big shout out for AFC Bournemouth - the fans & players were immense on Saturday, Stan really appreciated the support from the away end too. The only slight 'off' note was the group of "supporters" seated behind me, who halfway through the second half decided they weren't impressed with what they were seeing & scrapped plans to turn up for Reading on Saturday in favour of going to the Spuds-Juve game at Wembley instead.
