talk sport and Les on 15:56 - Dec 28 with 16778 views | RangersDave | Don't hate him at all mate, met him a few times had a laugh or 4 over the years. Loved him as a player. That's where it ends. I've always asked here exactly what qualifications does he have to do a job he's never done before? I believe he's out of his depth, and needs, before he sully his previously good name, any more, to piss or get off the pot...... and I don't think he can piss. But If you look at it, a lot of our recent troubles have been down to him.......poor manager choices, does he buy the players? If so ditto. However you might argue he's gotten the wage bill down........ ok, but how difficult is it to not extend contracts, to cancel contracts, to offer players for sale, and then say to the manager 'this is our budget, and your only getting what we can afford'? Not too sure that's difficult to be honest. But the more hands on in his DOF role he is, the more he's culpable. After all, if , when I was employed, my employer kept employing people that could simply not do the job, his bosses would ask why big stylee and action the deficiency. The best bosses employ people smarter than they are, not invite them into the QPR early learning Centre to gain experience. It may be that Les truly thinks he can do a job at HQ, I would suggest that our situation would show otherwise. If he's not on the gravy train and not blinkered to that, then he should step down immediately and let TF employ someone more eligible ( yeah ok I know I just wrote that line)! ICI won't employ a university graduate straight from Uni into chairmanship of the company will they? Same thing on a different scale at Rangers. [Post edited 28 Dec 2016 15:59]

talk sport and Les on 19:37 - Dec 28 with 16329 views | Monkey_Roots | My first thought, was that Les didn't want to come on and give a position on Holloway - like they could be discussing his future and didn't want come out and say 'we support him' only to sack him tomorrow, looks a bit indecisive. It could be that he really has the flu, but I'd be surprised. In a way, Swansea sacking Bradley gives the qpr board a reasonable precedent to follow suit. I'm feeling all conspiracy theory today.
talk sport and Les on 20:28 - Dec 28 with 16168 views | bosh67 | I think it would be fruitless for Les to speak to radio. What's the point? So, Les, are you going to back Ian or does he have X matches before the chop? He can't win so why bother.

Maybe he actually has flu, I have it at the moment, is a right pain and i wouldn't want to chat on the phone with someone about work at the moment either What qualifications does he have for the job? Well what qualifications did Phil Beard have to sign players? Or David Davies or Amit Bhatia or Gianni Paladini? They have all held that role in recent years of negotiating the transfers, none of them had a clue what they were doing at first, their qualifications for the role never questioned but a bloke who has worked in football all his life and has been doing the role for two years gets this constant bullshit aimed at him as it's his first job of this type. Everyone who holds this position will at one stage have done it for the first time and learnt what they were doing, Alex Ferguson learnt on the job how to be a manager, Lionel Messi learnt on the job how to be a footballer, they never have all the answers on day one but learning and gaining experience of a role is a good thing and Les has learnt a lot in 2 years and is more than qualified for his role. So all of QPR's problems down to him are they? Bullshit Was it Les Ferdinand who closed the academy in the 90's? Was it Les Ferdinand who gave no funding to the youth set up for over a decade allowing it to rot whilst other clubs in the area invested and left us behind. Was it Les Ferdinand who spunked 200 million up the wall at mercenary players and robbing managers and wasted 2 attempts at the premier league and left us financially in a worst position after winning the lottery twice. Ferdinand has come into the role when the money run out, when the FFP rules had been breached so we had to comply after relegation if we were to have any chance of avoiding a deserved 70million fine. Not hard to get the wage bill down? If you say so but something no one else managed or even tried to manage He could have continued on the same path and said sod it lets go mad again, throw money at it and off we go, no guarantee that would have worked, it didn't before. Instead he did what many asked for, he created a pathway to the first team for youth players, in the last 2 years Doughty, Furlong, Grego Cox, Kakay, Shodipo, Lumley, Kwpewka and the finnish kid have all made first team appearances, not a hope in hell that would have happened before. We've signed younger players who see QPR as a step up, another thing we wanted when the like of Boswingwa, Park and Chris Samba were being made millionaires by the club, now those players need to be developed and won't be great straight away but in Smithies, Ingram, Hall, Luongo, Cousins, Sylla, Wszoleck and Chery he's signed some very decent prospects who could go on and big big players for us. Not every signing has worked but not every signing worked under more experienced men like Redknapp and Hughes, these failures haven't been as costly though. Managerial appointments haven't worked but the club is still run by Fernandes who still listens to twitter so Ramsey came in when fans called for a coach rather than an old school manager, he listened when we wanted an up and coming manager in Hasselbaink and he listened when we wanted a QPR man. Perhaps he should stop listening to us but thats the man Ferdinand is working for and thats the one you should be moaning about rather than the bloke trying to fix his mess. Just bloody typical at QPR that the people doing the right thing are the ones being attacked by fans. [Post edited 28 Dec 2016 20:39]

I never said he shouldn't be held accountable if we get relegated to league one, if that happens of course he will be. Still say managerial decisions a joint thing and Fernandes wanted Ramsey after fans said how weel he was doing on twitter but ultimately Les carries the can much like Beard did before him for his bosses decision. On transfers yes some haven't worked, i'd argue a few on that list are not that bad

This is very close to the mark for me. Let's not forget the terrible handling of the Austen transfer. I know he was in his last year of contract but sold for 4 million, really?!!! A Premiership goal scorer sold for 4 bloody million !! Most of the money spent on Washington and El Khayati. Two players wanted by JFH and sanctioned by Sir Les. We have Lee Hoos who knows how to run a football club. We don't need a DOF.

So he allowed the manager to sign players he wanted, and the problem with that is?? Austin deal was not a bad one, we was out of contract, had said he would leave on a free and then asked for a transfer to Southampton, the club could do nothing about it and did well to get anything for him. If they had sold him for 4 million a year earlier i'd agree it was stupid but at that time for an injured player it was the only thing they could do. Lee Hoos is a CEO, he has said countless times he is not qualified to look after the football side, if Ferdinand went, someone else would replace him. The way the club blew 200 million on players and agents whilst not putting a penny into the academy kind of shows we do need a director of football

talk sport and Les on 21:18 - Dec 28 by daveB | I never said he shouldn't be held accountable if we get relegated to league one, if that happens of course he will be. Still say managerial decisions a joint thing and Fernandes wanted Ramsey after fans said how weel he was doing on twitter but ultimately Les carries the can much like Beard did before him for his bosses decision. On transfers yes some haven't worked, i'd argue a few on that list are not that bad |
I don't disagree that TF is just as culpable for this mess if not more I actually cannot believe we don't have fans protesting against this idiot But the love in for "sir les " needs to stop and he needs to be held accountable , apart from smithies and hall I cannot see another club buying any of Ferdinands signings If it was someone like Damien comolie, sherwood or David pleat as DOF who has made these duff signings and managerial flops then this messageboard would be in meltdown We have signed players with no heart, no leadership, no creativity who simply bow down when the going gets tough , those signings were made by Ferdinand, that's fact also can anyone name a club where having a DOF actually works ? Do we simply shrug our shoulders when we go down as say " it's a learning curve" like we have that clown TF the last 6 years , this club is in the sh1t and the fact that les cannot even do a radio interview just shows what a laughing stock we are

talk sport and Les on 20:36 - Dec 28 by daveB | Maybe he actually has flu, I have it at the moment, is a right pain and i wouldn't want to chat on the phone with someone about work at the moment either What qualifications does he have for the job? [Post edited 28 Dec 2016 20:39]

talk sport and Les on 21:47 - Dec 28 with 15868 views | paulparker | So if it's not the DOF or the "best chairmen " we have had , who is to blame for us being championship league champions in 2010/11 to being relegated to league one in 2016/17 ??

I think he's had more good than bad signings and the change in the type of players we sign was always going to make life difficult. Also don't think every signing is down to him, he's backed his managers and signed who they asked for both the good and the bad We're crap at the moment but i think the players better than this and will hopefully prove it, big window for Ferdinand though, he won't survive if we go down
talk sport and Les on 21:59 - Dec 28 with 15829 views | 2Thomas2Bowles | TF only fault has been to be a soft touch taken for a mug again and again by con men on and off the field, trusting them to run his business, as arry said himslef, had his pants taken down. Is LF any less guilty of that, maybe not in money but inability to deliver good players or managers. I was not a fan of JFH I'm still glad he has gone. If LF is not backing IH 100% to sort this mess out, he should go if IH does or even just go himself. If IH was not LF choice and he was not happy and not willing to back him he should have resigned, he works for the club an employee same as everyone else. [Post edited 28 Dec 2016 22:20]
