Everton fans not "touched" by Ash . 20:11 - Dec 11 with 9054 viewsicecoldjack

Seem to be giving him a right slating, wondering when he will win a header ! They don't seem happy with his contribution at all and just think he's an average older defender schooled in the lower leagues.

Bit harsh or not ?

His main limitations are things 95% of professional centrebacks do have; height and knowing how to head a football properly.

And marking his man on corners.

Maybe he thinks he's taller than he is? That would explain his annoying habit of getting caught under the ball.

Top player mind. I'm convinced it's no coincidence that our's and Wales' recent successes coincided with him being captain. In a way it's good that he left at the top rather than us having to witness a slow and messy decline; Everton can have that. We've missed him though for sure. £12 m won't seem such a good deal if we go down and there will always be a 'what if' question.

How ironic, this thread and some of the comments, on a night where he scores the winner against Arsenal for the second year running...

Priceless

Not much that's been said on this thread isn't true. That doesn't change just because he scored a goal.

Not many here would agree with that logic. Quite a few consider Fer to have been our best player this season.

No room for complexity, a player is either great or he's shit and if he's scored a goal recently it's the former then, innit.
