Anyone with ten fingers and a brain can see they have nearly recouped the lot.

But of course there are still people who won't be able to work it out, so why not break it down for them. In simple terms like?

Still losing over a million a month. Crikey! Perhaps Uncle Vinny has taken on a second job to help them out.

Also, I know there's an element of corporate bollocks to what Dalman's saying, but

"Cardiff is the capital and we represent that capital and we are trying to implement that philosophy on the pitch as well as within the club"

can anyone begin to explain that to me?

I'll have a go at trying.

Absolute shambles running on other peoples handouts.

Sorry.
Are we talking about Tan and Cardiff Comedy Football Club or Cardiff the Capital and the Welsh assembly?
Got a bit confused with my answer

They can't. You can't just walk away from a club, they have to find someone with the finances and the inclination to take it over. It's not like maxing out your credit card then going bankrupt

They can if you strip out all the assets, strip out the costs, run it in to the ground and then sell it back to the trust for whatever they have in the bank..

How can he say in the same interview that they are operating at the maximum allowable loss of £13m per year, and also that they are on course to be debt-free by 2021? Debt into equity is surely never going to happen until they can stop losing money - who on earth is going to buy out that debt?

The debt to Tan is going to be written off in an initial lump then 5 tranches of 8m from memory.

Presumably Dalman means that losses are going to be stemmed by 2021....

Not bad, Dazzer.

I realised some of your brethren were starting to get irritated with my superior intellect, looks and taste in music so thought I'd give you all a break from being enlightened. Too much of a good thing and all that.

Possibly.

Hope you and all others are fine and dandy.

Honest question bluey.

He says they're running at the max loss of £13 m per season at the moment. This is the last year of the parachute payments (£12 m this year I believe).

So next year they'll need to make savings of £12 m just to stay where they are now. Most of the valuable players have been sold so where on earth are those savings going to come from ?

Am I missing something ?

Tough to say tbh - thought parachute payments had a year to go tho not sure on that one.

Ridsdale sold the stadium catering deal to Compass on a ten year basis, which is ending fairly soon I do believe either this season or next. There's potential there to make some increases in revenue as it couldn't be run worse than Compass have...

Having just got rid of players like Macheda there have been more savings financially, suspect there are more players we can get rid of either by running the contracts down or by paying off. I also suspect when Dalman referred to the "max loss" he was referring to pre-transfer window closing, which would obviously change things due to the wages being saved by offloading players.

Club seem to be wanting to get local businesses involved more - there's a Grazing Shed kiosk inside the ground now.

They are implementing "The Cardiff Way" apparently (true!).

That means just standing there for everyone to point, laugh and jeer at doesn't it?

Hate anything deemed "The _____ Way". It's a trite pithy comment... one size doesn't fit all, you need to change things up for different games. Should always be an ideal rather than an actual.

Having said that, if you pick on a nominal formation you want to use as a base for the first team, it makes absolute sense to have the Academy in step with that, which is what's been happening.

Agreed I hate talk of 'The Swansea Way' as well. And Derby were on about 'The Derby Way'

Very hubristic. The real Swansea Way, has been sold out and now belongs to a club like Portsmouth.

Isn't 'The Cardiff Way' being used as if it's something special by Dalman and his boys though? And going way beyond football. And being touted as an extension of 'The Welsh Way' not recognising that it is almost entirely dependent on Bale, Ramsey and Williams?

If so, beyond laughable. maybe one day your club will actually DO something before mouthing off about it.
