Transfer Thread on 22:16 - Jul 20 by AngelRangelQS | If you think that Jack Cork and Leroy Fer can be relied upon across a premier league season along with Ki and an aging Leon (sorry Leon) then we are never going to agree on this. We didn't look much better going forward under Guidolin. It was only Gylfi's form that kept us up IMO and getting rid of that waste of space Shelvey. Let's see if Guidolin changes from the tried and tested diamond next season - it's not like he hasn't played it in the two preseason games |
Well.. since Guidolin took the reins.. A Midfield of Cork, Fer and Ki accumulated.. 8 wins 4 draws 5 defeats in 17 games.. that ratio would've taken us over 60+ points throughout the season.. without a main Centre Forward an all.

Fair point but let's see what happens when the season starts again shall we? If we put those three up for sale, how many other clubs would be banging our door down for them?

Transfer Thread on 21:48 - Jul 20 by Dr_Winston | It's amazing how quickly a player can go from "We f*cking mugged Liverpool off for £15m!" to "Oh God! Oh God! we have to pay £13m for Joe!" after one international tournament. Allen is a good player. I won't even argue that he'd be an improvement on what we have. I just don't see spending £13m on a player in the last year of his contract and who his current club don't want as something we desperately need to do. |
At those sort of prices, HJ always looks at sell on value/age, which in Joes case he won't be a player he will want to/cannot sell and recoup anything on. Would love to see him back but I can't see it at those prices and for the reason mentioned. Still at least it's not Jordan Ibe - 15million - worlds gone mad!!

Depends whether we want him or not. Only shocking business if nobody else interested at that price. If others are prepared to pay £13 million that is the going rate - length of contract means feck all in that situation.

In a world where every Premier League club is playing with an extra £40-50m in tv money for the same pool of players, that's not a crazy sum. It's the new normal (or will be until wages across the board catch up and cut into it). | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Transfer Thread on 14:42 - Jul 21 with 2431 views | PozuelosSideys | So in this "new normal" world where everyone has lots of money and its acceptable to punt £14m on Allen, people are gutted we rejected a bid of £7m for Ki, who has had seasons where he has been excellent. (albeit in amongst piles of poo granted). I dont understand, why would we sell ourselves short on sales value, but overpay on the spend value. Thats shite business sense.

Transfer Thread on 15:34 - Jul 21 with 2238 views | Drizzy | It looks highly unlikely that we'll get Joe now given the amount of midfielders we have. We're not going to match Stoke's offer. Terrible, terrible decision by those in charge of the transfers. We should have seen this coming when we made the "smarter" purchase in buying Leroy Fer for the best part of £5m. Looking forward to Fer inevitably going missing now he's got a new contract, as he has done at every club he's been, whilst Joe shines in a Stoke side who will play much better football than us. Conservatism in the transfer window is killing us.

He'll always be a scapegoat because he 'doesn't get stuck in mun'.. The British don't like these foreigners not getting stuck in, and receiving a red card in the process.. Some Wimbledon fans gave Vinnie Jones numerous standing ovations for receiving a red card.. One fan quote 'That Cantona deserved a leg breaker, the stinking French quim'.. followed by chants of Vinnie Jones.. The old gladiator crowd roar still remains in footballing colosseums around the globe when violence erupts.. The old ancestral lineage of bloodshed still remains.. A red card is a symbol of a warrior.. that must be glorified. We were ancestors of neanderthals.. it's in our DNA to be barbarian supporters.

We are like the Labour party though.. We still don't know what the f*ck is happening.. In fighting, leader disputes, fall outs.. and we still have no owners in place.
