Jordan Rhodes on 09:43 - Jan 22 with 943 views | Pintado | He has had major fitness issues this year, followed him for a few years now and been prolific, but yes untested in premier so a big gamble, however if new man in charge of transfers, then I think we can cross all old links off the list.

The biggest problem is that someone who is guaranteed goals at this level either won't come to us because we are in the crap, will be too expensive or unavailable... Most likely all 3. That just leaves us scrapping around for a player who is a gamble and a bit of a leap of faith. Like Rhodes, like Doumbia, like Sinclair etc. People talk about Charlie Austin but he's injury prone, probably on big wages and at the end of the day why would he have chosen us over Southampton? Even Rhodes is wanted by Boro and if I were him I'd be seriously considering whether a move there is more likely to see him play premier league football next season than a move to us. Any signings are going to be gambling on us just as much as we are gambling on them.
