Have defended him many times, and still think he does have some talent, but Christ, after that performance...get him out of here as soon as possible. Disgusting attitude.

Those token England picks were the worst thing that could ever have happened. Braindead big bollux numpty (Hodge and JJS). Obscurity beckons.

Hes a loose canon atm, shouldn't be anywhere near the 1st team with that attitude, lets not forget hes still only 23 though!

Let us stop making excuses for his age!

He may be 23 but he's been in professional football since he was 16 and has hundreds of first team appearances, a lot of which have been in the premier league.

It's no excuse

Sorry but nothing can excuse what he did today, shouldn't even be in the bench from here on in.

He's done nothing all season and he's a liability. His attitude was shocking and it was embarrassing to watch today.

It's a shame to see a boy with such raw talent throw it away because he's got an attitude problem. He could be a world beater if he wanted it, but not with Swansea City.

See you Jonjo.

That never works, just affects the mood etc in the club.

Get rid of him if possible in January, spend the fee on a good loan striker.

If we cant get rid, need to work with him to get the best out of him. On his day, he's a good player with goals in him. Things can always be worked out, if he has a good second half to the season it will be a positive for all parties.

He should secure a transfer to a 'Bigger club' in the summer and we should stay up and recoup our investment.

Yes he's only 23 but he made his Charlton debut when he was about 16 so he's been a pro footballer for 7 years. How long does it take to acquire a decent attitude towards the fans and your employers ffs.

I missed the first 35 minutes due to playing in a Christmas charity match but within minutes of getting a stream and saw Shelvey, I was going to ask if he'd been that bad for the first 35 as well. Clearly he was.

Get rid. When the team is in a hole as deep as the one we are in, you need every player to show at least 100% commitment for the cause and somebody who only shows 20% is no use to us whatsoever.

Shelvey should be told not to report for training after today! I don't care if he's sold or sent out on loan in January but he needs to be gone so the rest of the squad can concentrate on the job in hand...

You might think I've forgotten, but one day, when you least expect it, my time will come.

Always defended him and i hate these kinda witch hunt threads but my view changed Saturday. The way he ran onto the pitch after the lads had busted a gut had bad attitude written all over it, like he's above a relegation battle.

Lets be honest does anyone think he will go to the Euros? He aint mobile or quick enough when you compare him to say Ali. 1 cap wonder.

Fair play to Curtis taking him off after 55 minutes, Mr Monk would have kept him for the full game.

Most managers wouldn't have sent the pr*ck back on for the second half......the guy's a disgrace to our club, and his profession.

I watched that young lad lead our team out on Saturday, after having both feet amputated. The effort he must have made in just trying to run off the field with the rest of the other kids was inspirational........maybe Shelvey should have another chat with that lad, and then take a long hard look at himself in a mirror.

More than a 1 cap wonder (only because he has won more than 1!)

But the rest of your post I agree with, the last two games have summed up his attitude problem that will blight most of his career

It's deja vus all over again with Shelvey. Every nine months or so we have to have a conversation about his attitude problems. Well he's been with us for over two and a half years now and he's shown no signs of maturing into a professional who can consistently deliver for us week in, week out.

Move him on and let him be someone else's problem.

That post is spot on, if as a highly paid professional you cannot motivate yourself to do your job then just fk off, if he was a pro boxer with that attitude be would of been hammered.

Anyone in any business knows they have to protect their assets ["assets" in the accounting sense].

I'm guessing that the club are doing exactly that in JJ's case. I'm guessing that's why Huw Jenkins denied the stories about a "bust-up" with his Chairman [not a good recommendation in any line of work] and why they continue to put him on the bench and give him some minutes.

Shame that he isn't protecting his own assets.

Very true, though the way he was standing off the tackIes today he probably feels that he was doing an excellent job of protecting his two remaining assets ;-)
