I saw that when I got up for work at quarter to five this morning and got it in a split second! Reading this page has cheered me up no end!

I assume from what you've posted that this is the 'ginger' thing he does?

I haven't watched the link, because I can't bear Minchin and I don't know what it is called but if it is, yeah - it's not funny when he does it and it's not funny now.

The fact that it was supported by a link to Breitbart which I'm never inclined to click on didn't help.

But I guess I owe Dailew an apology. And to be fair, he's made a few of us, me included, look a bit twp here.

Well the anagram of "GINGERS" along with a link to a story about redheads all topped off with a song about the very same sort of gave the game away.

I have to say that the Liberal-leftie style wailing and gnashing of teeth that came free with the wrong end of the stick has been hugely entertaining.

I didn't notice or click any link in the original post so no idea.

But context as you pointed out earlier, is key. Pretending any use of that word is simply an anagram of ginger (helps by the way, if he hadn't added the extra 's' which actually makes his 'anagram' wrong anyway), is just convenient nonsense.

This reminds me a bit of the Monty Python pachyderm sketch where John Cleese shows a photo of an elephant and Graham Chapman shouts "ANTISEMITISM!"

There was no way of telling the link was to Breibart without clicking it.

I specifically used a google short url cos "redheads" was part of the long url and would have been an instant giveaway.

P.S. No idea what Breibart is. Just remember something I read on a forum about red-headed jihadis and that was the first link google gave me.

He said specifically it was to get round the swear filter. Only one conclusion from that, and it's not an 'overly sensitive leftie stretch' to assume that ginger was not the word in question.

(That changes with the link by the way - not disputing that, I didn't notice at the time and by the time I looked today the post was gone).
If he hadn't mentioned the swear filter, then fair enough.

why the reference to the swear filter in your original post then?

Fair enough if you hadn't mentioned that to accuse people of jumping to conclusions, but with that reference there was only one way to read your post?

I don't mind admitting that I am very sensitive, probably oversensitive about these things by the way, I am, as I genuinely find bigotry really repulsive for all sorts of reasons.

Just wasn't sure whether ginger (there, I've said it) had been added to the ever-growing list of words deemed inappropriate by the PC brigade.

You can never be sure nowadays.
