New hoof ball style. 23:21 - Oct 30 with 4207 viewsconnell10

I noticed this against mk and was gonna post a thread about , but i thought as they were a passing team this was to counter that. Then tonight we adopt the same tactics, green not passing it to the back four just lumping it , our defence just lumping it and our midfield! Only for about ten minutes near the end of the first half did we keep the ball on the deck and strung a few passes together and kept possession and as soon as we started doing that we had brentford on the ropes! What im trying to say is why have we gone from one extreme to another!

Agree. Its obviously a tactic to press the opposition in the corner to get the ball high up the field. But we've already got the ball so why don't we keep it?

I think Ramsey n co have set us back ten years!

I think you must've missed the bit where I said that it's PART of the problem.

But keep your head in the sand believing that here's no link between players treating the ball like a live grenade and the booing of Henry at Loftus Road last weekend (for example).

I've watched Henry for 3 years now and he does try but he doesn't have the ability. How he gets into the team every week is beyond me. My "not trying hard enough" comment is aimed at the likes of Phillips, Fer, Hoillet, Toszer. I personally blame CR for picking Henry and Toszer. Yes, all the players confidence is completely shot and abuse doesn't help but I am not going to sit there having paid for my season ticket and let it just go by without venting my feelings. What I find most frustrating is reading comments supporting CR etc. when it is obvious we are playing the worst football I've seen for 5+years. Chery was full of confidence when he arrived and it has been drained out of him (and yes NOT by the fans but by CR). Same applies to Luongo and Gladwin. Onouha's confidence is gone - he is having a nightmare now after looking good early season. He has also shown no confidence in Furlong, Doughty and any of the youngsters cos he NEVER plays them. When CR is sacked, we will hopefully get a coach who will a) play the ball on the ground b) try and attack c) play to our strengths d) invest in some players with pace

It' really quite simple the majority of passes that Henry makes are sideways except when they are played backwards. In the majority of cases he puts the onus on another player more often than not a defender to play a forward ball which currently has become a hoof. On Friday he played alongside Tozer who was abysmal. Please tell me who in that duo is going to play the defence splitting pass. They were a waste in a 442 set up.

This.

Will people actually watch him for one game and tell me what he does. From 20 mins I just watched him. On Friday he completed two 'forward passes' that were basically sideways, everything else went backwards usually putting them under pressure. He then moves away from the ball and positions himself behind the opposition, hiding. Every time. He also did not make a single tackle nor make a single interception. I can't recall him winning a header.

Whenever you see us hoof it aimlessly look at Henry's position and body language. That is why we hoof it. He does not have an engine, Brentford were running rings around him.
