I know he's 33 but Crouch would do a job for us for the rest of this season. Not sure Stoke would sell him though. If we do get him he's worth about £1.8m.
Or we go for Javier Hernández at about £12.42m? On his way out of Utd possibly, still only 26 and scores 1 goal per 3 games on average, sometimes closer to 1 in 2.

Do we believe Harry when he said Remy isn't the kind of player to leave us in the lurch? I think that was just his usual mind games to try to keep him. I regret that Deeney seems to be a dead deal, because he is just the tough kind of player we need. I think there are options in play because it was obvious to anybody that in terms of quality Remy is outstanding value to CL clubs, I just hope they pick the right one. Is Hooper that good, or are there other or additional options out there? So far this windows deals (assuming the money was right) seem quite good, although later than we needed, now is the time to see if we can get in the deals that make them either very good ort turn it into another disaster. I hope our management team have all got there intelligent, but tough negotiating hats on. |  |

Also, why do so many people have such a hard on for Hooper? Scored a few for Scunny in the Championship, then did well when he dropped down a couple of divisions to the Scotish Prem! Hooper has proved he's not good enough at this level, some people say because he was sh@t last season he has "prem experience" that's just complete bs.
Not sure on who we'll go for but would rather loan a player in and improve his stock for another side than buy an expensive paper weight. |  | | |

After getting Diarra surely Sandro is an unneccesary purchase? For strikers I cant see anything past either Sigthorsson, Crouch, Kane on loan, etc. Although I would love one of Campbell ot Welbeck on loan or just a class striker where we go all out |  |

Hooper would be great if we're planning to go down in short order.
Don't get the repeated mentions of Crouch. No indication that Stoke want to get rid, he's under contract and on high wages, so we'd have to pay through the nose for a player who probably has a year left. |  |

Stoke would sell at the first offer. The issue is that he is on big wages for Stoke. All for a 33 year old with no pace who, at best, has 1 PL season in him, providing he's only expected to play about 15-20 games.
If there aren't better value for money options, I'll be surprised. |  |

Despite Crouch's connection with the club, I don't think he is what we need. I think the bustling slipping tackles cutting through defences style of player is what we need and Crouch is not that. I quite liked the look of Deeney, but don't think Hooper is that kind of player either. We need young fit pacey play in that position. I think its a shame we are scratching around now, unless we already have deals in place. I worry we are going to be adding the aged last chance saloon type player we did in the past with the same results of high wages and no sell on value after a year and I'm afraid Crouch is now in that category. | |

Given the signing of Vargas and also Isla I suspect that 'Arry wants a big target man like the Icelandic bloke who would be a foil for Austin. If he is good in the air with the likes of Isla swinging the ball across it might not be the worst option. | |

Don't think there's any £14 million players coming to QPR...all the rumours are for similar types of players or odd unique players.
Diarra beats Sandro to the post for a lot less money, Hooper models Austin for the same money, ( £5 million ) not a bad choice.
Sigthoresson(?) I'd be surprised if he came to QPR, he just doesn't look like a premiership player to me, don't think Ajax would let him go for £5 Million.
Sadly my choice would be a Joel Cambell loan but don't think Wenger would let him go, and even more sadly I don't think Redknapp would want him.
My incoming player to replace Loic Remy is Jermain Defoe, injured or not, on loan in a few weeks time until the MSL restarts next year.
