niko returning? on 13:03 - Jul 28 with 2285 views | DANRANGER | Ideally no. However if we fail to sign the players HR has targeted then wouldn't be totally against it as a squad player. Knows his way around the premier league and with further fine tuning can offer something. If we can get a holtby or fer then niko to back up. In a 3-5-2 centrally he could be less exposed to tackle as agree he is shocking at it and should have seen red in play off semi, but didn't and the rest is history.

I would be very disappointed if we signed Nico. Well past his best, nowhere near fit enough last season and struggled to make a real impact in The Championship would not have a chance with the pace of The Prem.

niko returning? on 13:15 - Jul 27 by Discodroid | no thanks guvnr would be like having one of those comedy giants from its a knock out lumbering around in midfield fouling everyone ( as he did towards the end of the season in the championship)as he cant near the ball anymore, with opposition fans laughing hysterically rather than stuart hall smacks of us being knocked back for priority targets and going back to what we had , which was barely good enough to get us out of an ordinary championship. furthermore, i could do without 'only here for the niko's' venn diagrams and mosaics showing us all where beau brummel niko was when the opposition score or when jfk was shot. we might as well get oniel, buzacky and gavin mahon to resign.in fact id have akos over him any day utter crap. did he have more than 5/6 good games for us??. he'd be destroyed in the premier or be sent off as regular as a FGM or pro immigration article in the evening standard. if an overfed decandent dandy gone to seed is all we can muster in midfield, were fkd. I love him to bits but i'm afraid i'm with this mentalist on this case, although 5 / 6 good games is a bit harsh

Whilst I think that "utter crap" is a tad harsh I for one can't remember Niko having more than 6 good games.
niko returning? on 08:41 - Jul 29 with 2084 views | rsonist | I will never understand how it is that a professional footballer only just turning 30, under contract, with months and months of daily coaching and the latest sports science available cannot be made to keep his fcking weight in check. If it's unprofessionalism on his part then it applies doubly so to the club for allowing it to continue. Lovely player but no use to us as a slob. Should probably have been tried in the Tom Carroll non-tackling sitting distributor role at some point.

sorry guvnr, utter crap was more to do with how i felt about us signing beau brummel not that he is utter crap, just not very good anymore. a seventies swashbuckling maverick puffing 2o a day in an age of midfield sinewy powerful athletes bathing in creatine. a bit like the football version of mortal kombat i.e francis lee vs yaya toure [Post edited 29 Jul 2014 9:16]

niko returning? on 09:52 - Jul 29 with 2045 views | derbyhoop | On the evidence of the last 2 seasons, Nico is better suited to the PL than Granero, whose departure has been confirmed. But he's need to be a lot fitter than he was last year. On a short term deal for sensible money it wouldn't be the worst signing. He would add some creativity.

I wouldn't be against having him as backup, he's a good guy, a link to last season, and still classy enough. The problem is he needs to play to get fit and not sure he's good enough to start these days

Sources in Ukraine are today reporting that he's been 'declared' as a member of their squad for this season & been given his old shirt number 21 again. If I were a betting woman, I'd be more inclined to believe the Croatian sources, but who knows?
niko returning? on 19:30 - Aug 7 with 1755 views | TacticalR | A cut above the numerous mindless players the club has bought. I only hope that he's got over the injury that stopped him going to the World Cup.

Whether he comes to us or not, I doubt very much he's going to want to stay in Ukraine

Kiev is perfectly peaceful & safe at the moment, but obviously, that could change, if things get nasty. The Ukrainian season is already two games old, but their Premier league has been decimated. There's only 14 teams contesting it and four of them have been forced to play their home fixtures in other cities. Niko hasn't played yet. He'll be a bit behind the rest of the squad, as he missed Dynamo's pre-season camps in Austria, but he's been back in training since mid July.

niko returning? on 21:08 - Aug 7 with 1534 views | enfieldargh | Dead keen to sign for us. Bought a flat apprx 5 miles from LR last season. Wants to stay in London and does genuinely like QPR. He is well minted, just wants to play football for Qpr and stay in west London. He is not money driven.

niko returning? on 22:21 - Aug 7 with 1448 views | Marc | We are making good moves in the transfer market. This wouldn't be one of them...
niko returning? on 00:02 - Aug 8 with 1349 views | jonno | I believe he had a serious back injury last season which prevented him training properly and getting fully fit. He was seeing a specialist in Germany about it. If that has been sorted so he can now get himself properly fit then he would be a good signing on the appropriate wages etc. IMHO. He is clearly a class player that was lacking in fitness levels last season and if he can get properly fit he is easily good enough for us in the PL. But it does depend on whether he is now injury free and you would hope if there was any question mark over that then we wouldnot sign him.

Yeah a back injury causing his hammy problems, if we're signing him without that being solved it is madness!

What's all this bollocks about him sacrificing the World Cup for us? He was on loan to QPR till after the play off final, thus WE were paying his wages. He was doing what his contract demanded ffs. It was just unfortunate that it was just before the World Cup. I'm not digging you out qprnaas. There's a good few QPR fans with the same logic.

Well I think the argument is that he had this hamstring and back problem but wanted to do his best for us and play in the final anyway, even though he knew there was a good chance that what eventually happened would happen and he wouldn't get to play in the last World Cup of his career.

oh fuc king hell no. all i can see is the lower half of aka 'master blaster' from mad max 3'beyond the thunderdome' polishing his boots with champagne before unleashing his faulty gene broth all over the pitch before collapsing on a pair of oversize ratten bamboo loungers . dont spoil it 'h' with this pointless signing.
