Luke Moore 00:09 - Apr 16 with 2567 views | thejack1912 | Seems strange to me why we let Moore, a striker who was scoring goals for us was released when it was obvious we were struggling in that department. Crazy.

Luke Moore on 00:18 - Apr 16 with 1786 views | icecoldjack | I rated Luke Moore quite highly, got the odd goal ,linked up well with Michu ,very technical and seemed well liked by everyone. Not sure why Laudrup got rid, of all the players to have as a back up Luke Moore was the best option for number 3 by a mile . I loved Laudrup but thought he had a blind spot for strikers and treated Luke Moore very poorly . A one year deal considering the european adventure would have been perfect, Bony,Michu and Moore with a young striker as number 4 would have been the best option .

He was not up to the standard required the problem is we now have a dof who just wants to bring in second rate championship players.

Well FWIW it certainly wasn't footballing reasons why that utter plank Schecter got more game time than him last year. Anyone care to hazard a guess why he got bombed?

Luke Moore on 09:03 - Apr 16 with 1520 views | icecoldjack | Stating the obvious that he was no Wayne Rooney , but the point is that a club like the swans ain't gonna have 2/3 top level strikers! Moore would have been a decent cover option behind bony and michu , when you consider we would have needed to pay someone to basically be a bench guy the option of keeping Moore was IMO more appealing than any other player out there. The guy was a good fit for us to say he was shite is just daft, we all know he wernt a world beater but he got us at least 4 pts from the bench last year, plus the assist to win at arsenal so he was personally responsible for 7 pts in that respect. Good enough to do a job and IMO earned another contract with his performances ,laudrup got that one wrong but who knows if there were other reasons.

This is true but it unfortunately reflects the bigger picture. 18 months or so under Laudrup has gone some way to undoing the work of previous managements. Letting LM go should only have resulted in a more than adequate replacement, instead we got inadequate, and quite possibly more expensive.

He wasn't very good? People are looking for conspiracies AOTS these days. The question shouldn't be why we got rid of as substandard striker, it should be why we've failed to get anyone decent apart from Bony and, to a degree, Michu (although we all know he's best in midfield ... if not lately).

He was a decent squad player - and despite a lack of game time contributed more than Itay "couldn't score in Studio 95" Schecter and Alvaro "spineless" Vasquez put together. Suppose he didn't score 19 goals in 66 games though...

Certain players fit certain clubs. Would Leon be anywhere near as effective elsewhere?

Not in the Premier league he didn't! We're arguing over degrees of uselessness here. Yes he was better than those two, but none of them should be good enough for us. His absence from the PL and current gig in MLS speaks volumes. The failure wasn't to release him, it was to bring in that shower.

Yeah, but that's the point. Don't bomb someone unless there is better out there in our price range, unless there are other reasons which for the life of me I can't understand/won't say for fear of libel

Luke Moore on 10:20 - Apr 16 with 1386 views | perchrockjack | We ve had Schecter, Moore, Vasquez, Ngog wearing our shirt. As I say we have much to learn as a club. Im struggling to imagine any prem club taking the likes of them. This season I personally believed we ve made massive mistakes all round and wer re paying for them right now. Hopefully, the Wizard in the sky will look down on us in our our of need. THEN-- We need a massive clear out and those in control need to apologise , wise up and get us back on track for the new campaign

Perchie - the voice of reason! I'm with you on that comrade. I don't know whether to laugh or cry about "Emnes - gate", the whole Twitter saga and Dineen trying to justify the farce.

Well they obviously thought they were getting better. They were wrong. Happens. Afraid I can't lose sleep over a substandard player getting released though, even if his replacements were as bad if not worse. What were the other reasons you heard then?

I'm hypothesising. Why would anyone persist with Schecter when quite frankly he looked out of his depth in the U21 development squad? Then the tax scandal breaks. 2 + 2 could = 435271292.333333r or... Just a thought, an opinion but no proof that this has happened and it may just be my creative (or cretin) logic...
