The worst kept secret was unveiled by Saints today with the announcement that the 2010 kit would be on sale from 11.25am on Saturday morning.
As expected its basically a copy of the original kit worn in 1885, ie a red sash on a white shirt.
Its hard to be critical of this, its traditional and it looks nice, although pedants will point out that the original kit had the sash going both ways depending on the wearer, but standardised with the direction being left shoulder to right waist, the opposite of this years design.
Apart from that its a nice touch although for me its a little too white an outfit with white shorts and black socks, personally I would have liked to have seen red shorts to give it colour, but thats being picky, it was white shorts in 1885 so they have stuck to historical fact.
As the club graciously informs us they are keeping the cost at £30 for kids and £40 for adults for the tenth consecutive season, whether there will be a repayment plan avaialable for those who havent written this cash outlay into their budget is unclear at time of writing.
