According to media sources Southampton have had a goalkeeper at Staplewood over the Bank Holiday Monday, he was shown around the training facilities and underwent a medical ahead of agreeing personal terms today.
The player in question was Feyenoord's Justin Bijlow, a name that most Saints supporters will be familiar with by now
sportwitness.co.uk are one that have carried the story and they say:
"Bijlow has carried out medical tests with the English club on Monday. He will continue discussion with Southampton on Tuesday, to sort out the ‘final details"
They also quote Voetbal International in the Netherlands as stating that the Saints will sign the Dutchman on a loan deal with an obligation to buy if he makes 20 appearances this season.
This would probably suit Southampton as it would free up money to spend on outfield signings if they cannot get rid of a few key players in this window, lets be blunt if Bijlow doesn't make 20 appearances this season, we are probably going to be in big trouble.
