| News Comment | Honest to God, plays — report at 08:03:59
'Rovers sent on former R DJ Campbell for Jordan Rhodes but he clearly had 0-0 on his coupon and had little effect on proceedings...' Think we all know what he had on his coupon last Saturday, and for the last couple of seasons if my memory of his 'contributions' are correct... |

good write up Clive... the majority of the players this season have not warranted receiving a wage, and I would like to think their careers will be tainted for being part of such a useless bunch of w@nkers. Really dont know how some can call themselves 'professional footballers'...only shame is that none of them need to find another club as they have earnt a packet from us, as Im sure they would struggle to find employment elsewhere after this pathetic season... |
| News Comment | Redknapp aims to bring the fun times back to Loftus Road - full match preview at 08:16:41
Well said Clive, Harry will indeed make it fun, and give us half a chance of survival...think we have a slightly better chance of survival than you do though. If we reckon on 40pts seeing us safe, then we need 10 wins and another 5 draws from the remaining 26...not easy, but possible, if everyone pulls together and plays at or near their potential...something Harry is reknowned for getting out of his teams. That said, if we dont beat a Darren Bent free Villa today then I cant see us beating anyone |
| News Comment | Win eludes improved QPR as Redknapp begins impossible job — full match report at 11:29:57
Thanks Clive - spot on report as always Agree with ozranger, we are not dead and buried and have a real chance in the next 6 games to put 3 or 4 wins on the board. With Hughes in charge, no chance, but clearly Harry coming in as given everyone a lift... But for the love of God, can someone tell me why he brought SWP on for Taarabt, when Hoillet was available? The sooner he and Boswinger leave the better...money grabbing flesh wastes |
| News Comment | Arsenal catastrophe leaves Royals at a crossroads — opposition focus at 11:51:29
Excellent write up (as usual) Clive...you hit the nail squarely on the head about turning points and only spotting them in retrospect. This game could be one such moment for Hughes at QPR...lose, then his position is close to untenable. Win, and we could be on the cusp of an imminent rise up the table... With both teams woefully out of form (luck?), and defensively suspect, I suspect this will not be a pleasing game for the neutral. Expect a no frills approach from both us and the fakes, with a defensive mistake or three deciding it. Rangers to win 2-1 COYRS!!!! |
| News Comment | Shaking debate steals headlines from potential thriller — full match preview at 12:18:39
great preview Clive...love the bit about Diakite and his Fulham kneecappings and the Jeff Stelling led colonic... sneaky feeling we will get something on sunday - cant see the scum being up for little old QPR after their Camp Nou exploits...and with their back four can see a few goals too |
| News Comment | QPR latest to curse Old Trafford refereeing after inevitable defeat — full match report at 07:54:18
as always Clive, your report is the only bright point to a defeat... and whilst the boys 'put in a shift', this was one of the most one sided premier league games I have ever seen. the 2-0 scoreline (which I would have taken beforehand) was more down to united 'idling' than anything we did on the day (we play so deep, appreciate its united at OT but our central midfield seemed permanently stationed on the edge of our D, no wonder they had so much possession) the officials were beyond incompetent, and its hard not to conclude that bias did not play a part. have no doubt we would have been beaten anyway - BUT THATS NOT THE POINT - if blackburn can win there then we sure as hell can all told though, the wkend could have gone much worse - slightly better off than when we started, one of our 'unwinnable' games out the way, and no new injuries/bans (assuming derry's is rescinded) - roll on wednesday |
| News Comment | United trip gives Hughes selection dilemma — full match preview at 14:32:11
Think its far too big a personal risk for Hughes to drop swathes of players...we only have 7 games left to prove our worth in this league. we are in no position to write off 1 of those before we even take the field, regardless of the opposition Its absolutely imperative we avoid a tonking as the momentum gathered from Arsenal is vital. I have a very bad feeling we could be on the wrong end of 5 or 6 on Sunday as United are beginning to hit their straps and GD could be crucial for them (anyone else see Fergie berating his lot for missing chance after chance against Blackburn? even after they took the lead). Give me a narrow defeat with an encouraging performance by us (assuming no fresh injuries/suspensions) any day of the week...anything more would be a bonus |
| News Comment | QPR punished for familiar failings — guest column at 18:50:30
its a fair point regarding Hughes and him being a slow starter but Im not sure you can blame the inconsistent refereeing and on him, neither the moments of lunacy by seasoned internationals. the board clearly went for him as he could attract big name players which he has delivered on. problem is, those big name players are not used to a relegation scrap and the particular type of pressure that brings: hence the nervous displays and idiotic challenges |
| News Comment | Sunderland bring QPR right back to reality — full match report at 11:45:51
Summed up well Clive... Just so depressing that we have been let down again by one of our players. And this is no young gun out to make a name for himself, oh no, this is someone who has played in English football before, has played for France nigh on 50 times, who proceeds to act like a complete muppet not once, but twice, in the most important run of games we've ever had... From a playing perspective, we seem to be playing very very deep. Think this is related to playing Derry who simply isnt as mobile as he needs to be |
| News Comment | With renewed hope, QPR head north — full match preview at 08:29:16
not part of the boo boy brigade but can understand how they feel. For the captain of any club to be so disruptive in the dressing room (allegedly) and so nonchalant after defeats (tidy saturday nights etc.) is not on. That coupled with the fact that whilst he hasnt been pony in EVERY game this year, I cannot remember him having many really great games either (Wolves away was his best in my opinion). as he admitted himself that wednesday was his worst ever performance, if he does start today, you start wondering what it will take for him to be dropped |
| News Comment | Liverpool caught in QPR’s Wednesday night lights — full match report at 08:19:19
Fantastic write up Clive - absolutely spot on. Working in Budapest I regularly get the tram into work along the side of the river Danube, and reading your comment about a mentally unsound African with his shorts rolled up to his crotch, and a fat goalkeeper had me laughing outloud with countless locals looking on bemused... One of the best nights for a QPR fan for many a year |
| News Comment | Not very good, not very lucky, QPR suffer crushing Bolton loss — full match report at 08:02:10
Not sure about all this vitriol towards Hughes...agree that playing SWP centrally was a bad idea in the first place, let alone after 20+ games of it proving it doesn't work BUT, how many saves did Paddy have to make? We had plenty more chances than Bolton, could have had a penalty or two, and of course there was Hill's goal that never was...don't get me wrong, Hughes has not improved things since he came in, but to blame Saturday on him (and indeed Barton) is wide of the mark |
