Fully deserved victory for Reading. We were okay at the back bar Paal's error , up front we were awful and Marti has some serious work to do. Forget the 11-0 , we basically find it difficult to score as soon as we come against reasonable opposition . We have little control of the ball, we try to beat one man too many, we don't cross well and don't move enough. Only a friendly but deeply concerning. |

bad ball after bad ball. I would be gutted not to win this if i were Reading. Frankly we have been very very poor. |

We are very poor up front. Back control, static and so far well controlled by the fakes. Marti has some serious work to do. For a start we need to control the ball as it reaches us not knock it forward 2 feet every time. |

Well my optimism is draining a bit. I know its only a friendly but against a mid divison 1 side and we just seemingly have no idea how to break thru. All very pretty in our own half but get anywhere near their goal and we have little idea |

I think that was one of the worst performances of the season. Back line we're okay as was Field. They had a plan stop Willock and Chair and we have a shout. That meant such as Anderson and Armstrong needed to step up and unfortunately they were both woeful. I am sorry but Armstrong is just not good enough at present. His touch is awful and he has to make himself more than fast muscle.Anderson oh dear. I thought he was dreadful. Bannon played as he should of and showed him up all afternoon. Dykes clearly isn't interested in the Euros as surely Clark can't pick him currently. I hope Marti has words as we will go down if we play like that for the remaining games. It should be added that Wednesday were very poor which shows just how bad we were |

I think Marti got this game wrong and didn't react to his mistake early on 1 he decided to play Armstrong's pace against their slow back line. With the midfield too deep Armstrong had no support when he was able to get hold of the ball. It was Ainsworth tactics and quite clearly they didn't work and they should of been changed after 20 minutes. 2 with a big back 5 Armstrong never had a chance and this became obvious after 10 minutes. Why wait until minute 65 to change things? 3 Stoke are a big side and we played a midfield of midgets . At corners Hodge must of been a foot shorter than the guy he was marking. No wonder we lost headers! 4 Personally i dont think the players were comfortable with the system and could not find any outlets when you have 1 guy 30 yards forward surrounded. 5 Smythe is fine until he gets within 10m of the box and then he is annoying. Messing up and slapping his side in frustration like clockwork. It is the same every time. He cant cross and he cant take chances from over 1 foot out. Wilock may lack but he can cross a ball and can shoot on target. 6 Haydon was spent by 50 minutes. Why didn't Marti change him? 7 The BBC say we had 1 shot all game. Marti saw what was happening and for the life of me i dont know why he left it so late to change personnel. People are shouting about the team but as i said earlier i think this one was down to Marti. Schumaker read him like a book and simply set Stoke up in a way to stop us. Marti did not react and i hope today he has learnt something and apologises to the players for, in my view, getting it all wrong. And before anyone says anything i think he is great and we all make mistakes, it is just how we react to them that matters. |

I think tonight Marti had his pants taken down by Schumacher. Got his tactics all wrong. Thought he would use Armstrongs pace Schumacher read it put 5 at the back against our 1 up front. Why Marti reverted to Ainsworth tactics which never worked goodness knows but frankly I think he got it all wrong tonight. Wrong team and wrong tactics. And once again we lost because we can't defend corners. Very poor |

Why Ainsworth tactics all of a sudden. Frankly today Marti has been outsmarted. Got the team and tactics wrong. Stoke have pressed fast and kept 5 at the back to cope with our one up front. As ever when it counts we play badly plus here the manager just got it wrong |

Please everyone remember what we were like a few weeks ago under GA. We are all frustrated that we lost yo a top 4 side which has a positive spin! I sit in the upper loft and Armstrong had 3 chances but was on his heels each time. He may come good but he is no Messiah right now. We need to loan or buy a Nakki Wells type in Jan who simply knows where the goal is. I thought Dykes played well but he isn't a natural goal scorer. Get someone who has some idea and we should be in with a chance. |

I have 2 season tickets and i am not going. After 50 years i have had enough . I actually think the players try but from top to bottom the management of this club is dreadful. I will boycott all the games until i see a change as frankly being annoyed at 500 every saturday afternoon is just not worth it. For those who go if it is a mauling please ask GA to go as vociferously as you can. We only have these players whose stuffing has been knocked out of them by inept tactics so i would not direct ire at them. The mess is down to inept ownership and a manager who is way out of his depth and won't listen. |

I honestly think the only joy of supporting QPR at the moment is these reports. What an incredible mess and it really does show how a man at the top of any organisation can be worth the exorbitant sums they are paid. Unfortunately we have a benevolent idiot who with his mate Fernandes have destroyed this club. I am told that GA will not listen to anyone, it is my way or no way. Clearly as has been stated many times he is way out of his depth at this level and has lost everyone apart from seemingly the owners. Personally after 50 plus years i am not even considering going on saturday and i think people should either boycott or barrack. Not the players but GA. I am sorry but he has to be forced out by people power if not by the owners. I really do not see us surviving easily in League 1 and the main way to right this is to at a minimum improve confidence levels amongst the players and supporters. GA is doing the opposite and frankly is becoming something of a hate figure amongst all the people i sit around. Let us at least try to play football and not the turgid muck GA is serving up. |
| Forum Reply | 2nd bottom at 21:56 25 Oct 2023
Either they are waiting until after the Leicester game to sack GA or they have no intention or desire to stay in the Championship. Nothing else seems logical. The problem is I fear we will be nearer the bottom than the top of League 1. Ruben really is a man who listens to the wrong people. He has lost a fortune and probably will lose a once famous football club ....and no doubt he will blame someone else. What an absolute mess he Ferdinand and Hoos have created. GA and Ferdinand say they love the club but in the end they will probably be the people who destroy it thru their simple lack of ability. |

A variance of opinion then! I take all the comments on board and just wonder if the players want or don't want the present regime. If they want a change a boycott would be supportive of the players which i agree we need to be. Only hearsay i know but it would appear that the players have stopped, as we all have, buying into GAs constant enthusiasm about how good we are. It is obvious we are not great but if that were accepted and tactically compensated for as much as possible we may have some chance. Truth is to me we will not be competitive in League 1 if we go about playing a style which went out years ago. Football has moved on and there are some good sides in League 1. Booing at the end of the game would generally be taken as against the players which again i agree is not helpful. If there is to be some kind of 'demonstration' perhaps then it needs to be in the form of chants directly against the people we are trying to oust. Ruben needs to 'sort it out' and GA needs to go and my suggestion having read all the comments is that unless a miracle happens after the Leicester game or even during if we are a number down specifically directed chants would best. |
