They don;t tell you this when they are advertising for season tickets. Joe Thompson - WOW, I think he is worse that Joe Bunney I have a very bad feeling about this season |

I heard he was at fault for first goal, but it was McNulty getting beat for pace and then a shot fizzed low across him into the FAR corner. Some of those you get a boot on, some you don't, it was actually a good finish. The second goal was a great strike The last was obviously a bad mistake. Its one game, we didn't play poorly and mistakes do happen. Lillis was one of our best players last year and people saying get rid of him?? Goalkeepers will make mistakes, you only have to watch all the goals to see if happens every week. |

Agreed, I think the main area would be a quality striker with pace. We never replaced Scott Hogan, and it could be argued that we "got lucky" with Matty Done scoring so many as a make shift striker. Hendo is not really a number 9 who plays on the shoulder, and as much as Calvin has improved, we wont do anything better with him as the main focal point. I know we have pace in the wider areas with NML and Donal but the chances Done and Hogan got just from there pace alone. I think we need to be looking at more quality through the spine of the team. Another quality central Defender, midfield and striker, would make us a real force should we get lucky with injuries. We have been carrying big squads of late which is unlike dale. I've never been a fan of Lancashire and Eastham. Although Eastham improved a bit, I think its a positive that Hill has been forced into improving the defense. Hill likes his central defenders to be comfortable on the ball. When Lancashire or Eastham had the ball, it was almost an accident waiting to happen. Not sure how likely it would be to ever happening but would Chris O'Grady consider a return? Not getting anywhere at Brighton and didn't get in the forest team towards the end of the season. Not the pace we need but offers such an outlet with his strength. I think we are in for an interesting summer with players coming in. Lets hope the majority of the ones coming in add quality to what we already have. Its been a while since we lost anyone, do we think we will manage to keep all our assets? Allen, Lund, Donal, Cannon, etc, Surely only a matter of time before someone comes in for one of them? August 6th can't come quickly enough |

Ha ha, the people on here make me laugh. Waste of a thread?? look down the list of topics and more than half are not even about football, let alone Rochdale! Jimmy Rustler once said: If the man at the helm right now wasn't KH and hadn't achieved what he's achieved with us, how many would be questioning his position right now? I'm not talking just about results either. His attitude has always been quite poor towards the fans but the pre and post match comments with regards to today's game have really tickled my pickle and I'm sick of his condescension towards to the fans and to an extent, the club itself. I don't think it would be unfair to label him tactically inept at this moment in time and tbh his decision making with regards to formations and starting lineups is almost suicidal. |

Its been a while since I have been on here and I have just been looking down the many threads that have been put on here. Its not long ago that people were seriously suggesting that Keith Hill should leave!!! I don't here them saying this now? Like I have said before, we should all embrace the great effort put in by all at Rochdale and really get behind them for the rest of the season. Beating last years points total is real progress and I think the continuity of the staff and players is a massive factor in that. We are who we are, we are never going to be Man Utd, and I am enjoying what is being served up. We don't get it right every week, but I genuinely think that whoever we play, we can get something. I remember going to places like Peterborough, Southend, Gillingham and knowing that we didn't have a hope of getting a point. Its a long shot, but we still have a glimmer of hope to sneak in the play offs. It would probably mean we have to win at least 5 of the remaining 6 games and teams above us slip up but the pressure is completely off us. Keith Hill has mixed things up, stuck by some players and we appear to be playing somewhere near our best again. Looking at the teams above us, there fixtures are ( on paper at least ) far trickier than ours. If we can win Saturday, Tuesday night will be massive!!! its not over until its over!!! |

He played well at the start of the season but has faded - if we can get some cash in then I would look at bolstering the defense! |

Absolute Garbage!! Keith hill has done more for this football club than any other manager in its history! He deserves as much time as he needs. Even if ( and we wont ) get relegated, we are no further behind than when he first came to the club ( either time ). The Rochdale job is one of the hardest in the football league and people who know nothing about football ( you ), come on here and say that Hill should go! It is laughable This is an open forum where everyone can voice their opinion - I appreciate that. But when its simply STUPID, I felt I needed to tell you that. What are you expecting? Every time we get a decent player, we have to sell them. It is frustrating, but that is what keeps the club going. You don't ever see Rochdale being on the verge of bankruptcy or not being able to pay its staff. We don't have a pot of money to be able to go and buy more players. We are just below half way in League 1 and we lost 1-0 t Bury on the Cup. We have been in much worse positions than this i'm afraid. Yes we could defend corners better and yes we could be more clinical in front of goal. However, the fact is, we are Rochdale, not Barcelona. I sometimes question who he picks, who he signs etc but for him to be sacked? I don't think so. For the record, Lancashire ( too slow ), Eastham ( too many mistakes ), Bunny ( he wouldn't get in any League 2 side ), RNL ( complete waste of a wage ), Andrew ( a good sub at best ) are not at the same level as Henderson, Allen, McNulty, but we always will have a couple of really good players and then a squad of mediocre players. That is just how it is! Be happy for what we have achieved and enjoy the brand of football we are trying to play, while it lasts. Because if people like you keep spouting rubbish, he will go! Dunphy doesn't have a great track record of hiring managers. You could argue that he got lucky with Hill ( both times ). Eyre, Coleman - clueless. Be careful what you wish for . . . . . . . . . . . . . |
