I agree, the story that gets pushed back is that it's too difficult to administer ' punishment ' away from prison. I am sure if you said to someone you must help on a community project one day a week for a year or go to prison for six months they may well decide to turn up to do the community work?

Labour less popular now than under Corbyn?

I think Starmer probably knows he needs to be very careful. 64 percent of people did not vote for him, the turnout and anecdotal evidence indicates that people are fed up with politicians, if he or his front bench fcuk up the general discontent will be focused on him.
He will know that this is a consequence of his negative ' they are crap' rather than we are good campaign

I guess that's the plan, allow him to foul up and then you can deal with him for good, leave him out now and he will be a problem chipping away at you.

Zero, just take a look at India's growth in emissions.

Wales produces about 30 Million Tonnes of CO2 each year. Last year India increased its emissions by 230 Million Tonnes.

Southgate
at 07:32 26 Jun 2024

No rainbow laces, gesture politics or human rights for him to claim the moral high ground. His talisman for inequality has taken to crashing Rolls Royces, hiring Lear jets to go on the piss and carrying £10,000 in cash. His right back seems to be trying to solve the UK birth rate issue singlehandedly and even the normal sources of diversion such are squabbling WAGS and hooligan supporters are quiet. Lineker has decided there is more mileage in being critical.
Unless Harry Cane starts to transition or Declan Rice changes his pronouns Southgate will be forced to talk about football. But hold on.........the fans are not happy and that's upsetting some of the very sensitive underperforming multi millionaires.

A bit of basic research will show that the banking crisis and covid has led most developed economies to a similar position to the UK.

Starmer has been fighting a negative ' they are crap campaign ' for years, his manifesto is opaque. I fear we may be in a similar position to the last election in voting in the option that seems least bad.

European Elections

It's a similar story in Italy. We are told that Meloni is Mussolini in a dress and is labelled far right by the left wing media in the UK. She's increased her vote and her policies are no where near far right.

I see one of Macron's MPs has decided that the result of the elections in France is a threat to democracy, well if you don't like the result..........

Improved train service for the Cardiff area
at 19:28 7 Jun 2024

High Street station is a reasonably good station. I've been to some real stinkers in my time. I remember being stuck on Wigan station for an hour or so on a winter evening thinking what on earth am I doing here.
There's a whole load of awful stations around London, New Cross is probably the worst I've been to. I arranged to meet a friend there, when I got outside the station she said this is the closest you can get to a war zone in Britain!
