As strong as ever in Wales.
The people have spoken.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Labour votes down 140,000 from the last general election to this and this is against a Conservative party that is completely unelectable. Yes the people of Wales have indeed spoken.

Although still annoying the sound of bleating is not as loud as it has been that's for sure .

The Tories thrashed whatever excuses you come up with.

No excuses needed tbh , The result was no surprise as its more a case of the Torys losing it rather than labour winning it. Apathy reigns

It's debatable as to whether they were thrashed by Labour in Wales though.

Now Labour rule Westminster I’m sure the financial floodgates will open and flow to the Senedd now those nasty Tories have been usurped.

The turnout was low in general. Apathy all around, but it's not difficult to see why.

What was the choice, Labour with a less than charismatic leader, the Cons, 14 years of Austerity, Reform, an undemocratic Ltd company, Plaid, a minority party. Capt Beaney in Pt. hardly inspiring choices, Still, we could be like the US, now that's worrying.

They are significantly down almost everywhere except Scotland.

Interestingly the Muslim vote appears to have deserted them completely. 11 points down in seats with Muslim populations of 10% or higher.

Labour executed a strategy that saw them put huge resources into seats where they were second to Conservative last time. They barely campaigned in their own safe seats.

The result was a drop in support in their safe seats but still winning, and a six percent increase in those seats where they came second last time.

Labour also barely campaigned across the south of England where they were third behind the Lib Dems last time. Without saying it outright they implicitly implied that a tactical vote for LD was the preferred option.

Whoever organised all this was extremely clever. 66% of the seats on 34% of the vote. Incredibly efficient way to play first past the post.

The 7 million drop in conservative votes probably helped too though. 😂

It’s difficult to make comparisons, like comparing apples with pears!

It may be Reform is the protest party and people are expressing their dissatisfaction with the main stream parties, if Reform hadn’t stood then it may be that Labour would have gained a lot more votes.

What’s done is done and we have to hope we’re under good stewardship for the next 5 years.

Whatever happens, Gething and the Senedd must be scrutinised and held to account.

They were extremely efficient.

Some of the swings including Tory collapses were extraordinary as were some of the accompanying stories.

Thérèse Coffey saw a swing against her of 21k seeing the Tories lose Suffiok Coastal for the first time ever.
