Trump win as top court deals blow to Jan 6 case ... 21:47 - Jul 1 with 484 viewstheloneranger

"The Supreme Court now hands the election interference case back to the lower court judge, who will have to apply the details of the decision. Those decisions will also be subject to appeal and review – a process that could take months if not years."

AND ... "if Trump wins the presidency in November, his appointees to the justice department could drop the case entirely."

The conservatives on the Supreme Court have established that they are happy with a Trump led Banana Republic.

"That's how the American system of justice works, and it's reckless, it's dangerous, it's irresponsible for anyone to say this was rigged just because they don't like verdict." - Joe Biden, May 2024

Biden is having a press conference to complain about the SCOTUS decision in about an hour, so just thought I'd revive this quote.

So a man convicted of criminal offences is allowed to run for president of a country that has world wide influence .
A criminal openly intimidating the
Legal system, insulting the judge directly and supine to any criticism at all.

We should be very worried and USA is now parody of what it stands for .

This is significant in every possible bad way

I'm glad you have seen this at last. You have criticised Putin and Russia, rightly or wrongly, but this lot are far worse. It's just that we have been conditioned, propagandized, etc to believe that the US is for good, and can't do any wrong; land of the free, the leaders of the free world, the world's policemen and such other nonsense. It's becoming apparent to many that they are the real problem in the world today.

... And he does it again!!

"A New York judge has delayed Donald Trump’s sentencing until September as his lawyers seek to challenge his conviction after a Supreme Court ruling."

"Trump was initially scheduled to be sentenced on 11 July."

"His legal team asked for his conviction in a hush-money case to be overturned after the nation’s highest court ruled Monday that former presidents had partial immunity for “official” acts during their presidency."

And in the uk.

Q : How many current MPs have criminal records? In 2012, your published figure was 43%, but I cannot find more recent data.

Response

😮 I can confirm that we do not hold information about the number of MPs convicted of criminal offences as MPs are not obliged to disclose this information to us.

The information you have requested may be held by individual police forces. However, as the information you have asked for constitutes personal data it is likely to be exempt from disclosure under Data Protection law.

Some information about the convictions of MPs while they were serving as MPs is published in the House of Commons research briefing, “Recall elections” (9 November 2021). The information in the research briefing covers the period from the introduction of the process in March 2016 to November 2021, and only covers MPs convicted during their term of office.

Should you wish to ask individual MPs for the information then their contact details are available. Please note that Members of Parliament are not public authorities for the purposes of the Freedom of Information Act ("the Act"). This means that they are not obliged to respond to requests for information made under the Act. Similarly, the Act does not apply to political parties.
