THIS IS POOR. Keith Hill tactics/transfers are a joke. Lost 3 stars players and replaced them with players who are not good enough, Done is a shadow of himself.
He fcuked our season up last season and He's doing the same again this season.
Truth be told both teams were pretty poor tonight, a draw probably would've been the fair result. The first half we played quite well, and I actually think McNulty was our best player in that half. The second half was dreadful though. Up until the 91st minute it just looked like we didn't have a clue, bar one incident of ping-pong in their box.
I groaned when at a point when we needed a goal Hill brought Kitching on, and I was willing for Davies to be subbed off too. Shows what I know!
Absolutely thrilled now though. From 24th to 18th in 2 minutes isn't bad!

Well I was going to post about our shortcomings, of which there were many, however as the game neared the end , bunney started playing , slew added a bit of pace and then two goals out of nothing. Brilliant for morale, of the team and the fans. I'm now looking forward to mk dons
On the balance of play, we were probably the better side but it wasn't a good performance. In fairness, we've also missed a penalty and their keepers made a world class save at 0-1, but two mental minutes can't hide the shortcomings. I hope it lets us kick on because we have a forward line that can press for mistakes and create chances (like the penalty) just need to take them.

That's almost MKDons 2007/08 revisited, though we probably played a bit better tonight.
First half wasnt bad but in the second the lack of threat in their area bar that one game of pinball was so glaringly obvious.
Thoughts on three signings... Done: he produced when played centrally and has never done as well for us out wide, not impacting games enough there. Inman: doesn't look like a wide player and impressed for Crewe being played centrally. Daniels: we needed a CH, he's come to play games. He plays one at RB and then returns to the bench. He won't be replacing McGahey so not really sure why he's here as its doubtful he'd be happy as a squad player.
Others... McGahey and McNulty did well and although he struggled, Bunney seemed to become more effective as the game went on and looked to get stronger; that's massive. His set pieces are better than anyone else's too. Davies was poor, but just like Fleetwood last season he's there in the six yard box when you need him. Rathbone looked really lively and Cannon & Williams12 did reasonably well too. It's strange, there's just something missing but you're not sure what.
Still, that's a massive three points and we better off than we were this time last season and then we were playing much better. Tonight is exactly why people go to football, it's also why you don't go home before the end.
Wow. Much better balance to the team. Felt like we had a holiday cancelled, then were told we could have two instead! That's why we go to watch football. What a way to get off the mark. Nice to be on the receiving end of late goals for a change too. Let's hope that kick starts our season.

Probably low on confidence is what was missing - that changed at around 9.37
Its a BRILLIANT goal to cap a BRILLIANT start by Rochdale - Don Goodman 26/08/10

Said exactly that to the fella next to me. He looked unfit and low, but that surging run he made seemed to fire him up and glimpses of the old JB were there. Patience required.
Thought the first half was probably the best we've played all season. Says it all that the penalty save was the keeper's 3rd best save. We had real momentum and a purpose to our play and could count ourselves unfortunate not to be winning.
2nd half, we struggled. We knew we couldn't go through the middle at them and we got outmuscled a lot. Think we used up a lot of energy trying to go round them which worked to their advantage.
Donny are no mugs and will comfortably stay up this season so to edge puts our own predicament into perspective. We've got work to do but we are gonna be alright. Was it ever in doubt?

I thought exactly the same thing. There was a point in the second half where the ball fell from high to Davies and he had a think about shooting first time, but at the last minute pulled out of it and passed instead. The Davies of last season would've attempted an audacious swivel volley, and probably would've got it on target too! Hopefully this win will be such a big boost to everyone now and we can start playing with a bit of pomp.

Isn't that the second time we've dumped on Donny in 'Fergie Time'? Seem to recall that Canavan smashed in a late equalizer to deny them two points when they were fighting relegation last time out. Ahh, those golden moments ...
