Personally I've always found the status of captaincy quite a redundant post. Perhaps slightly less so since some sort of rule was brought in that only the captain and the player in question are allowed to talk to the referee when discussing an incident, but still I don't really see the point in one. If I were a player I wouldn't listen to the person with an armband on, I'd listen to the one I respected most.

If we have any real leaders in this team then they'll by their very nature act as a captain should, regardless of who Hill chooses to wear the armband.
