Unfortunately reminds us how many good players we used to have and how few we have now.

Only those in my generation will recall that Bournemouth spent over 60 years ..Third Division South now (L1) as it was after WW2, and we always saw them as " little brother along the Coast" at a time when Bournemouth was still a part of Hampshire. It wasn't until 1987 that they first managed to get promotion to Championship, then dropped back down the leagues and narrowly avoiding the drop out League Two, and a bankruptcy around the same time as Saints (2009) they followed us up to the Premier League shortly afterwards. Since when they have survived, and our fortunes have taken a turn for the worse, and they look stable in the top half of the Prem. whilst we have one foot in the drop zone. This will be the first of two homes games against South Coast rivals, which may finally decide our fate - if we fails to get points from either of these games.

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Polls |
