I would not be surprised if the club would be really keen to move him along. And that is of course no disrespect to his talent or his professionalism in his final months. It is not even the case that Sports Republic are particularly miserly. I just wonder how the financial fair play rules work - it might be really good for the club to have a sell in the books as they prepare to make purchases.
A good article that shows very well the complexity of squad management. Plenty of good points. However I would possibly question the remark of Hassenhuttl's playing style. Whilst it's very pertinent that will come into mind when making decisions about who to retain, there is a chance we could guess Herr H's style incorrectly. He's still new to us. I wonder if he is a '3 at the back with wing-backs aside' guy. Has he not used 'flat back four' elsewhere plenty of times and was it not the case that he went with 3 here for reasons of the moment?
I think the quotes you give and the way I read it would suggest that our attention (as spectators outside) is not on Davis & Fleming and the First Team. I see changes in the Academy and youth teams. I say that as no criticism but I think Hassenhuttl wants to create a conveyor belt of suitable players.
