How can Stoneham progress as a club being so close to Eastleigh FC? They are literally right next door to each other arn't they? Do they have the same fans as Eastleigh?

Sheffield Wednesday Attendance
at 11:38 2 Mar 2026

That was the official attendance, but you're right there wasn't 23k in the ground. Sheffield Wed fans before the match said that they include season ticket holders in the official figure but about five thousand of them have given up and don't turn up.

It looks like the extra 600 have already been sold. Will we get more tomorrow? I don't know but the demand is there. I know people who want to go too.

Yeah, I agree. I think that is an issue with travelling by coach. You can't stop when you want, eat when you want etc, often can't get anything if there is a big queue and you.only have 40 minutes at the services. It's easier if there isn't such a big following. I guess that is the drawback of going by coach. They don't give you too long, as there is a fine line between spending longer at the services, but then getting in football traffic and being late for the game. To be honest, the prices at the services are a f@cking rip off, so tend to just pack sandwiches, sausage rolls etc, put a drink in the freezer the night before when I go by coach. Often get something at the ground, but finding a burger van yesterday was like finding a needle in a haystack.

However, you just relax on the coach, you don't have to worry about parking or negotiating traffic. Nick always gets us to the game well on time, friendly stewards and drivers, lots.of chats with other Saints fans. There and back, with USBs, watching films on your phones and toilet.on board. I like the coach for certain games. For Fulham though, I'm going by train, to enjoy the day in London.

The Wednesday fans were saying that Chansiri is insisting on a certain percentage of any sale too, a legality that he is exploiting. They were also saying that any owner wants to buy the club as its cheapest, which would be when they are officially in league one. A bit like us.not signing a manager until we were officially a Championship club. Plus, they said if they don't get an owner until the summer, they will start with a points deduction as they are continuing to break financial rules.

It really was like going back 20 or 30 years. No computer screens or tapping your ticket anywhere in sight. Old style canteen like hatches to get a chocolate bar and a sprite. Although I did get searched by a rather "hands-on" steward. Perhaps a massage as you enter Hillsborough is all they can offer 😂.

Jokes aside, it was great away day and love a ground in and around coronation street type houses and cobbled streets. All part of going to different places. I agree, always have a soft spot for clubs that been through adversity. It develops loyal, proper fans.

What a dilapidated, tired, worn out, old place. The turnstiles were old style,.with a steward checking your ticket. No fanzones, no burger vans, inside there was a Dell style tuckshop type hatch to get a drink and a chocolate bar. Stairs were fenced off as they were too dangerous. Paint peeling off the walls. The blocks weren't labelled, it was difficult to.find your seat! It was very sparse outside the ground, no queues for anything, just fans looking numb and had given up. Chansiri what a tw@t.

In contrast, what a breath of fresh air their fans are. So interesting that with adversity, you get friendliness back. I have never been to a ground, and met fans who were so loyal, clearly love their club and would never desert them. No tourists, no arrogance, just what you would call proper fans. Some.of their fans even clapping our coaches as we left. And they sang loudly to our left throughout the second half.

I went with Nick's Away Travel. I would thoroughly recommend.

We won and we have been good recently so why......
at 13:01 1 Mar 2026

Yes, that is perhaps an unconscious disappointment. How things could have been if we hadn't had that terrible start with Will Still. Despite the excellent form, perhaps possibly scraping the playoffs and we will probably just miss out, is disappointing. We could have won the league had we not appointed Still and perhaps that is feeding into the fans' heads.

I was also in the lower tier. We took good numbers, but we are so quiet. St Mary's is quiet, the away support yesterday was really "relaxed" and quiet. I can only assume that our fans expected a win, were a bit bored or something. We can come alive when it's a big game, but at times we are definitely like.zombies. There are a good few individuals who try to get things going, but people just don't join in.

The hard drugs are dangerous though arn't they. As far as I am aware, you can't make them safe for people to use when they want. How do you regulate them? I can go and buy 5 packets of ibuprofen which is regulated, sold in shops and not follow the guidance. These hard drugs are highly addictive. Do we really want to make highly addictive, potentially dangerous drugs easily available for anyone to buy? There could be a lot of misuse and deaths. How many would go in a shop and buy a few pills for a night out and not follow the guidance, mix it with drinks and lose their life? How many people feeling down, could freely buy a few hard drugs to make them feel better? I agree that there does need to be a sensible, grown up discussion about drugs use, those who are already addicted, those who need them for medical reasons etc, canabis being less dangerous according to evidence but legalisation of all drugs, which could create a nation of drug addicts and unwanted deaths, I am totally against.

Plus if everything is regulated, how many drugs addicts will still try to get access to more than they are allowed to have legally? If you are told you can legally have x amount, that might not be enough for some, and they will seek more illegally.

But that could cause a lot of problems couldn't it? "If you want it, have it". So how many people will be having these really hard, dangerous drugs who wouldn't normally consider having it? Students having a party at University, being offered drugs legally by their friends or by just buying them in a shop and they think "Well, it's legal so who cares I will try it". You could end up with lots of people, who would never dream of going down that dark road of getting illegal drugs on the black market, but might try it if it's legal. How many deaths will there be? How many will become addicted to drugs as if it's like buying alcohol in a pub or shop? I understand the need to stop the illegal drug dealing going on, but not sure it's a good idea that anyone can drugs whenever they want, because the hard drugs in particular are very dangerous, much more so than alcohol. Would you want anyone in your family legally buying really dangerous drugs because they are depressed or want a fun night out? I wouldn't.

Wasn't even aware that Still had all these brothers looking to be a manager to be honest! 2 wins in 3 games at Watford for the other Still, it's a lot better record than.our Will, so yeah we.pronably appointed the wrong one. But as you say, very happy with Tonda.

Draw would have been better, but Watford winning only puts them one point ahead. Had Bristol City won, they would have been further ahead. So not a bad result.

It's an interesting proposal, but does that mean if a few of us fancied a bit of cocain at the football, they can legally get it from the pharmacy or doctors? Fans really high at games? Making it legal, what does that actually mean? Legal just for those addicted or people can be walking around the streets high? Not sure hard drugs being legal is a good idea.

Not so sure. They still got 2nd in a place that has always been Labour. People want change, and are lashing out voting for extreme right and extreme left parties. Green party 1st, Reform 2nd in an area where Labour normally wins easily.

The local elections will be an earthquake of people saying they are angry and want change. Greens and Reform will sweep the floor of the major parties, who people have had enough of. Life doesn't work for them and this was the same way before Brexit. That was also a protest vote to say "We want change, now".

Interestingly, in a Labour voting area, a left leaning area, Reform got 2nd. Does that suggest that Reform will certainly get voted for, in many right leaning areas?

Ultimately, do your job Starmer and get things done, that people want done.

The game is next Saturday isn't it. Be difficult to release tickets say next Thursday, 2 days before the game, unless they don't want to sell the whole end.

As I said, many people were losing before the Brexit vote, so it's not just Brexit is it? Many people in poor areas voted for Brexit too, not just rich people. They were struggling then before Brexit, and nothing has changed, hence the sudden popularity of the Green party.

The Greens are appealing to certain types of people, who are fed up of struggling, can't afford a house, can't pay the bills, fed up of being told what to do by ungrateful, selfish bossess, in many cases, earning nowhere near enough to cover all the bills.

And for those blaming Brexit, just remember that people were struggling way before the vote to leave and many struggling people voted for it, because they were fed up of being ignored. And after Brexit, these people are still being ignored, the towns continue to close down, drugs, knife crime feeling overwhelming, immigration a mess, people are looking for a solution to issues that under Labour and the Tories just don't get solved.

But yes, it is ironic that a 36 per cent Muslim area, has voted for a party with a gay leader, who thinks that women can have c@cks. It really is a mad world at the moment.
