I am interested in ethnic slurs of all types. We live in a ethnic diverse society. As Welsh we have had 1400 years of slurs from Angles and Saxons and some gave learned to brush it off.

Now over the last 50 years the similar slurs against new populations are triggering an angry and volent response.

The incident in Istanbul 1999 was instructive. A gang of fans acted as it they were in Inglewood not Istanbul did a few ethnic slurs and two went home in a box. No one cared about them in Istanbul. They wanted to treat the Turks as it they were Welsh. Swansea had the same problem in Greece.

It is like this outside the Anglo Saxon world and probably Scandinavian countries and France.

I want fans to looks at ethnic slurs as a single issue . Not pick and choose. Why is it OK if insult elderly Welsh shopper's in Cardiff 1 mile from the stadium but not OK to sing abuse at Raheem Sterling or Yann Dhanda. He was very upset. No idea what they said about him
