Eom Ji-Sung out for the ‘foreseeable’ future with ambiguous knee injury
Saturday, 12th Oct 2024 06:44 by Swansea Independent

It seems that Swans fans are fearing the worst this morning as winger Eom is believed to be suffering from a ‘complicated’ left knee injury which will require more exploration.

The Korean FA have not released the diagnosis from the scans to date but Eom will return to Swansea ‘as soon as is practical’ with speculation now that it is going to impact on his season at Swansea.

Eom was injured (below) on fifty one minutes of the South Korean 2-0 away victory in Amman, Jordan in a World Cup Qualifier on Thursday afternoon. Our headline from yesterday.

South Korean reporter for KNT Football, Joel Kim talks about the complications being ‘ambiguous’ whilst Steve Han, who was at Brentford as a recruitment consultant states, ‘Seems conceivable to think that they flew all the way to Korea as they’re expecting to be out for a considerable time’

Swansea City have made no comment on the situation, and are very keen to get more information on Eom - and to get him back at the earliest opportunity to facilitate their own investigation. However, that may not be immediately possible. The scans from yesterday afternoon were analysed at Seoul’s national university hospital.

We will update with more news as we get it.
