Swansea City host Bristol City at the Swansea.com stadium this afternoon in the EFL Championship (3pm) Tickets are still available for the fixture from the club today in the home areas only.

The Swans have dropped to tenth after yesterday’s results with Watford, Middlesbrough and Norwich City moving above them. Of course victory is the main focus today, but if the Swans click and manage in excess of three goals they will move into sixth place in the the table knocking Wednesday nights opposition in Sheffield United out of the top six. That’s a huge ask and potentially isn’t possible, but domination of the opposition today, take your chances, and carry on the Swans current impressive form - and you never know.

Everything is possible with a positive mindset, and the Swans have secured their last two wins with just that. Early goals were key to taking the points away to Coventry City last time out, and the home win against Norwich City the week before. Ollie Cooper has been a stand out player for the Swans of late, and he has achieved success in the current Nations League qualification with Wales. His form had dipped, last season especially, but that’s easily explained. His partner Tanwen gave birth to a daughter in January, and Ollie admits it has been one hell of a journey. “I have struggled with a bit of form and confidence. But the gaffer (head coach, Luke Williams) has had a chat with me and told me what he wants from me, and he has got to know my partner and my little one. He really shows an interest in that side of things as well, which is what you want from a manager. I don’t think anyone can really prepare you for how tough fatherhood is, but it’s also the most rewarding thing in the world”

Ollie always ensures he gets a good nights sleep before games, so stability and adapting to family life in a positive way is no coincidence with the upturn in the form of Ollie Cooper. Included in the assessment of the way Swansea play at the moment has to be the form of Portuguese midfielder, Gonçalo Franco. Enabling Matt Grimes to get forwards more this has been key to the Swans change in their overall game. A more attacking midfield that can dominate games for long periods as we saw last weekend. Backed up by a defensive set up that also combines those duties to adding flair to the attack we do expect a very positive Swansea City to take to the field later on today. Harry Darling, Ben Cabango, potentially Josh Tymon and certainly Josh Key have aided keeper Lawrence Vigouroux to keep his goals conceded to four over seven games this season. Vigouroux has been rewarded this weekend with another call up for his country, Chile, they play Colombia and Brazil early next month.

Ronald and Eom are now looking settled with Liam Cullen it seems first choice in attack, he bagged his second goal of the season last week. We can only hope that new signings Florian Bianchini and Zan Vipotnik fall into place now they’ve had a good few weeks to adapt to the Luke Williams way.
