Coleman & Levy to face off ? In with the big boys now Andy Sunday, 10th Dec 2023 16:45 by Keith Haynes Swansea City Chairman with just six months in his leadership role at the Swans will face off against Daniel Levy if he wants to secure the services of Chris Davies. With Spurs now stating through manager Ange Postecoglou there is a clear way forwards - IF the Chairman and assistant Ken Gude can secure Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy’s attention long enough to secure a deal. Levy has clearly given the go ahead for Postecoglou to talk about Davies this weekend. We reported those details below. We covered Levy’s worldwide reputation as a skilled negotiator, and a bit of history which we hope Andrew Coleman and Gude have made themselves aware of. You don’t go in to negotiations with Levy with any weakness showing, and you don’t go in all guns blazing either, he will sense inexperience within ten seconds of the Swans opening gambit. ⚽️ The door remains open for Swansea The biggest challenge now isn’t if Davies wants to move to Swansea City, yes he will want a far bigger package than Michael Duff had with certain reassurances, plus his own allies working closely with him. However, the Levy factor is crucial. He cleverly builds in contractual details for the release of players and staff and the Swans have to be aware of those clauses and later impact on the club. They can easily run in to millions. Once the negotiation for Davies are settled the Swans then have to sit down with Davies with a transparent and professional framework with financial backing, and a good salary. Davies will be taking a huge risk to come to Swansea, it has to feel right, it has to be right and it has to be achievable and believable. What we can reveal is that Michael Duff has had his compensation agreed, and that will be paid in stages moving forwards. That may free up a few hundred thousand pounds but the failure to appoint an appropriate head coach in the summer is haunting this process. The hard work begins today, as we said before, best of luck. Photographs Open Source and Licensed from Reuters Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
