Swansea City v Norwich City : Latest News as Yates struggles for fitness
Wednesday, 4th Oct 2023 08:00 by Liam Walters

Michael Duff faces the press today and despite being aware that Kristian Pedersen is out for this evenings game it seems Jerry Yates will undergo some stringent tests this morning.

Yates suffered two dead legs and was substituted at half time at Millwall on Saturday.

Mykola Kukharevych awaits the starting eleven decision after scoring his first Swans goal of the season at Millwall. Talk is that Duff could go with a more orthodox line up in midfield which could mean Ollie Cooper gets the nod ahead of Liam Cullen. That’s yet to be decided but with Cooper alongside Matt Grimes, who is certain to start, with Charlie Patino and Jamie Paterson just ahead of them it has the feel of a stronger midfield. Paterson has seen an upturn in his form under Duff, so if the head coach goes with Jamal Lowe, another certain starter, and Mykola the side does have a respectable feel about it.

We covered the injury issues across both sides yesterday.

That’s all here —> ⚽️ Swans & Canaries Weakened

Today with two wins behind them the Swans will be looking at this game positively. Their visitors did correct an alarming slide in form with a 2-0 win on the weekend against Birmingham City
But before that it was one win in four for the Canaries. Five if you count their League Cup exit at Fulham.

We will join Michael Duff later today for his pre match press conference and keep for fingers crossed for Jerry Yates (below) but safe in the knowledge the Swans have enough in reserve for this game.
