**Latest Swansea City loan move - and it isn’t Arsenal Thursday, 10th Aug 2023 09:36 by Swansea Independent The Swans are trying to complete a loan move for Chelsea defender, Bashir Humphreys. He played twelve times for SC Paderborn last season on loan in the Bundesliga 2 and has been allowed to leave Stamford Bridge on loan again this season. The defender is twenty and needs a good season of extra experience according to a contact of the website this morning. Having played for England under 20 in the last World Cup he loves playing with the ball at his feet and is described as having really good pace. Very much in the Marc Guehi mould the defender has many of his attributes. He is tough and uncompromising at times and at his age needs to experience the challenging landscape of the championship. Having trained with the first team last season Humphrey’s impressed then manager Graham Potter sufficiently to earn himself a starting place against Manchester City in the FA Cup. The Swans made inquiries on the defenders availability last season but Chelsea felt his progression would be hampered at second tier level in England and chose Germany. However, now a year later it could well be he is ready ? Bashir featured in all five of Chelsea’s games in the USA recently. More on this as we get it.
