Monk - We Will Be Better Against Everton
Friday, 18th Sep 2015 21:54 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews)

There is little doubt that Watford last week was the low point for the Swans this season as we surrendered our unbeaten record with far too much ease and looked second best for pretty much all of the ninety minutes.

So there is little doubt that we can do better and I am sure that many times this week in the build up to the game against Everton at the Liberty the performance against Watford has been used as a spur for the Swans players to raise their games tomorrow.

Despite that defeat last week we can raise ourselves back into the division's top four with a first ever league win against the Toffees and it would certainly put to the back of our mind the way that we failed to perform last week.

Superb performances against the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United don't seem that important when you waste all that effort with the kind of performance and we all want us to perform more like we did pre international break than we did post it so far.

And that is something that Garry Monk wants as well as he promises Swans fans that the performance will be better tomorrow

“I spoke to the group straight after the game and I could see then they knew they hadn’t performed,” said the Swansea boss.

“You say the little bits you need to say in the dressing room, then you analyse the game and tell the players your thoughts when you come back in to training.

“But there are no home truths. It’s not like that because the players felt the same as me about the game.

“We don’t dwell on it. We tried to understand what we did wrong and then we moved on.

“We will be better this weekend – I’m sure of that.”
