How Did They Do...? York City Sunday, 23rd Aug 2015 08:00 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews) The Swans will turn their attentions to the Capital One Cup in midweek and that means the visit of League Two side York City who will make their first visit to the Liberty Stadium. As we always do for our next opponents we look at how they performed last time out. Exeter City 0 York City 0Exeter and York played out a stalemate in Devon on Saturday but the home side will feel slightly aggrieved that they did not convert their chances and win the game. The first half was poor and the 3,000 plus crowd got frustrated as both sides only managed to register three very tame shots on target between them. Both managers were forced into one change before the break though as Christian Ribeiro and Stephane Zubar went off injured and were replaced by Jordan Tillson, for City, and IIlesanmi, for York. In the second half York had their chances, but they were sparse to say the least. Penn warmed the gloves off Olejnik early on and then Emile Sinclair had a speculative effort loop over the City keeper's head. York City boss Russ Wilcox: “Exeter were better than us on the day. When that’s the case you’re relying on character and we were resolute towards the end. “We would probably have lost that game last season, but we dug in and stayed solid. We can do a lot better, but I’m happy with two clean sheets and four points in a week. “As a performance, it was nowhere near outstanding, but it was an outstanding point at a team that I think will make the top seven.” Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
