Swans Draw York City At Home In Capital One Cup Thursday, 13th Aug 2015 22:43 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews) The Swans have been drawn at home to York City in the second round of the Capital One Cup after the draw was made this evening following completion of the first round ties. York ironically put out Bradford, the side that we beat in the final when we won the trophy in 2013. The Swans were one of the seeded teams in the competition which guaranteed them a tie against a lower division club. The draw took place live on Sky Sports after Leeds United became the ninth Championship club to be knocked out in the first round of the competition when they were beaten on penalties by Doncaster. There are 24 ties at this stage of the competition with the 8 clubs involved in European competition coming in at the third round of the competition. Sadly the draw had been half made before it went live which kind of takes the fun away from it and not sure what the benefit is other than speeding up the TV coverage. This should be an easy enough progression for the Swans into Round 3 and it is now over to the club to give us competitive pricing to ensure a good crowd on the night The ties will be played week commencing 24th August FULL DRAW READS AS FOLLOWS: - Aston Villa v Notts County Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
