Chelsea Boss Is A Monk Fan

Jose Mourinho is out this season with a goal in mind to defend the Premier League crown that he won back for Chelsea last season. And his first test in the campaign he hopes will deliver that is of course the Swans at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Whilst all the media and bookies and predicting an easy enough Chelsea win, Mourinho recognises not just that it will be a tough game but also the amazing job he believes that Garry Monk is doing in his first managerial role.

Chelsea's pre-season has been anything but spectacular as they build their preparation for the new season and they themselves are being written off by several experts - something that the Swans know only too well.

The game has been selected for live TV coverage which will be sparked by the fact that Sky always like to open with the Champions and also with a consideration that the Swans caused the biggest upset on the opening day of last term with a win at Old Trafford completely against the odds.

So it should really be no wonder that Jose is just a little more cautious when he is looking forward to Saturday's game

"It's a difficult kick-off to the season for us," Mourinho said.

"Garry's doing very well and the club is doing magnificently

"He's got a good team already but he's improved the team.

"It's a very good team and he's a very good young manager at a club that I admire a lot.

"I left the Premier League [in 2007] with Swansea in the Championship," Mourinho said

"I came back to England a few years later with Swansea not only in the Premier League but a stable and strong club in the Premier League."
