Bony Focusing On The Positives Tuesday, 25th Mar 2014 07:49 Wilfried Bony will step out at the Emirates this evening knowing that one more goal will take him past twenty for the season - his first in English football. Bony has 19 goals in all competitions - 10 in the Premier League - since making the switch to South Wales for a club record fee last summer. The last of those 19 goals came in Saturday's 3-2 defeat at Everton where he grabbed a first half equaliser in a good and typical Swans passing move that gave them hope that they could gain a point against the odds. That hope was extinguished in five second half minutes where the Swans conceded two goals but Bony is looking for them to take the positives from what was a good performance although ultimately one that left them empty handed. The Swans dominated possession and chances in the game but failed to capitalise on that dominance whilst Everton were quick to take their chances when they came their way although they were helped by some defensive generosity from the Swans. “Saturday’s game was disappointing. I don’t think we deserved to lose but we did and that’s football,” Bony said. “We created plenty of chances but just couldn’t score and we were unlucky. But at the moment it is all about winning because we need points." The Swans need for points is highlighted by a look at the league table which shows them just four points ahead of the drop zone with eight games to play. A run of just two wins in the league since Christmas has seen them fall from the relative comfort of mid table to the position they are currently in and a win tonight would be more than welcome even if a major surprise. “Hopefully the goals will count at the end of the season and not now. It is a positive thing that we are creating chances, and it is always nice when the striker scores.” Bony added when asked about his goal tally and after admitting that Saturday's meant nothing as the team had failed to win. Bony has also been linked with a move away from the club in recent weeks with Roma, Arsenal and Everton reportedly interested and if the rumours are right of the Gunners interest then a couple of goals tonight would do him no harm on that front at all!
