Did anyone else hear their midweek football panal review last night (Normally broadcast around 11pm), with Jake Humphries and Phil Williams etc?
It was obvious they had done little research into the issue they reckoned that the reason for ML leaving was that he was to ambitious and HJ didn't want to spend the money that ML wanted him to during his reign.
They also thought that ML would be in high demand for a new managerial straight away (plausable), but put no blame what so ever and MLs door for his departure.
I was astonished as to how much they were lauding ML and his ambition, drive and techniques by the end of the piece, I was actually unsure as to whether they were on a bout the same person.

Im sure its on Iplayer, for those who would like to check it for themselves.

a) They were probably using it to have a go - not unusual.
b) ML was right

Depends where you sit really.
But as with all our ex-managers I don't really care what he does.

Huge gratitude for giving us a fantastic 18 months but now he's just another Swansea reject.

I don't think people know the real ML all they see is a brilliant brilliant player and Swanseas greatest ever season last year not the sullen deep weird fella that he really is that would struggle to get on with most people.
On BBC Wales news last night they showed the customary on the pitch holding a shirt up for the photographers on the day he joined us,there wasn't a smile on his face.
Very strange fella and I've been saying it for a long time.

Surprising post DAZ as I thought you were his biggest admirer .

I have to agree and although I was slated on here his demeanour really did affect players and is hard to disguise basic human behaviour all the time.

None of us will really know what went on but the press fawning over him has made me sick and I see a huge disrespect towards our Club which I hope is articulated on Saturday to show these w'ankers who know nowt about us at all. They all are only interested in the "bIG" clubs which Laudrup himself was seemingly in awe of.
Well feck em and lets get at them
Ive a great feeling about Saturday

working away from Swansea i have heard all sorts from people on my camp spouting the usual nonsense of fickle Swansea, what a manager ML was and how can we sack someone like ML after he took us to Wembley.

I don't know what's surprising about it I've been saying it on here for over a year now the problem is you only read what suits your argument.
And no you weren't slated on here for his demeanour you were slated because you were talking bollox about him standing up.

No I'm not wrong you've been destroying the bloke since before the COC last year, some of us might have been trying to support him through difficult times, there's a difference and I understand you don't agree.

Things weren't right looking at how the team have played for quite a while.
Lots of journos are just lazy, stupid or don't want the true situation get in the way of a good story.

I for one am feeling much more positive about things now.

The only reason I hope Garry Monk doesn't get the job full time is because one day it'll end in tears,as soon as things go wrong, which they eventually will a club legend and greatest captain in our history will start receiving abuse.

Monk has chosen to step into a very hot seat at a difficult time. MARK THIS, I wont be hammering him if things don't work out as the damage will be already be done.

We all wish him well, we all hope it works out.

He has to get the players on side first. HE DOES and well be fine

Pity, Dar? Really?

I wish him all the best as, for better of worse, he's in charge of my club at the moment.
I think he's probably way out of his depth, although the usual short term managerial bounce could see us within touching distance of safety.

I get the impression he's been angling for this since Laudrup told him he wasn't in his plans. Go on then son, fill yer boots...

Put your head above the parapet though...

Good post
Garry should remain club captain and a senior on the coaching staff a club stalwart and involved in any new management structure. It is great he has stepped in for stability and get the team focused and working as one. He may do well assisted by an experienced no 2 until the end of the season. Doing well will be PL survival IMO. We will need a new experienced manager for the start of next season again IMO.

"It is great he has stepped in for stability and get the team focused and working as one." that's a very charitable way of looking at the situation.

Nothing wrong with diplomacy
He will get slated if we take a few beatings over the next few games.

You think?
Unless we start losing by shocking score lines, ML will be blamed for pretty much whatever happens (right or wrongly)

He won't from me.

I'll question the board about putting a rookie in charge at this crucial time though.

14 points from 14 games and he will be a hero
A couple of 4 or 5 nil thrashings on the bounce and he will be slated
14 clean sheets and he will be more than a hero, get the defence sorted with our sloppy goals against and the rest will follow.

maybe I wasn't paying attention Dar, but I don't remember you saying it either. And when I said he looked beaten you stuck up for him.
Maybe it was because that is how he always looked but I remember a smiling Laudrup after we'd thrashed QPR.
The greatest talents are quite often flawed, is Laudrup a depressive, is that his character?
Reading that Cruyff said he always felt ML was only giving 80-90% is an eye opener. It shows just how talented a footballer he was. does he lose faith when players can't reach his level? And if he was only giving 80% to his job it's just not good enough.
Maybe he had the enthusiasm at the start of his reign, but it quickly wore off and after the COC it was downhill all the way?

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
