A last game win where the score flattered the performance

Saints fans will remember the scoreline long after they recall the way Saints played in this last game of the season, Alan Pardew once again shuffled the pack , but in a game that meant nothing to either side, who can blame him.

Saints still had a side out however that should of been capable of taking care of the shrimpers with ease, however it just didnt gel and too many players perhaps had their minds elsewhere.

If that was the case on the pitch it was similar off it as supporters wondered why the programme had been pulled from sale.

The least said about this game the better, at times it was entertaining but those times were few and far between, of course the manager was looking for a few big displays out there, several players had question marks over whether they would be at the club next season and some of them did little to suggest they should be.

Jon Otsemobor was steady but little else, perhaps the biggest disapointment though was Mikail Antonio, we always knew he was hit and miss but this was very much miss and not for the first time he was hauled off prematurely.

His replacement Waigo, came on and at least showed some urgency and a willingness to play, its usually been a case of one or the other this season, and Waigo showed enough to suggest that if he had been selected a little bit more often in place of Antonio then things might have been different.

Aaron Martin put in another solid performance to suggest that he wont be out of place in this division next season and likewise Oxlade-Chamberlain who seemed eager to make an impression.

All in all Saints marched on thanks to the big guns of Lambert & Lallana but the crowd must have left wondering just what will the Team look like in a little under three months time when they return.

Finally one thing dumbfounds me, why do 6,000 or so floating Saints supporters feel able to shell out good money for a meaninglaess end of season game and not a crucial home game when we were pushing for promotion, Im not trying to accuse anyone here, merely I am quite baffled.
