I'll be bitterly disappointed if we don't add to our squad before the weekend - be that permanently or temporarily.

I think we perhaps need to get the defence right first, scoring two goals should be enough to win any game ? |
but they also have one clean sheet to their name and only conceded one away at a promotion rival, which isn't bad. could it just of been a bad day?
Or was the defence not right when we conceded 5 at torquay in our promotion season or perhaps when we conceded 4 at home to MK Dons in our highest ever finish. Both defences included dawson aswel just for the record. Defences have bad days, it happens. In the two games i've been, the defence have looked solid and i'm happy with it.

Dawson was a sub at Torquay. The defence included Rory McArdle, therefore it was indeed very rubbish. |  |

So far I’ve been impressed by JC’s candidness in post and pre-match interviews.
However, the Ob interview has left me a little miffed. He says of the fan who ‘remonstrated’ with him on the pitch:
"I understand the frustration, but if he thinks I can just sort it out by shouting on to the pitch then he’s sadly mistaken and deluded…"
Perhaps this is a direct response to something this chap said to him, but, overall, I would say that a manager shouting instructions onto the pitch was a key component of his touchline duties on matchday. I may have read this wrong, and I may be being pedantic, but I would definitely say a manager can influence a game by shouting instructions to his players. Whether they listen to him or not, well, that’s another matter.
Anyway, the rest of his comments go on to have a worryingly familiar ring to them:
"The passing game deserted us and you start to think well, maybe this system isn’t going to work — but there is nothing wrong with the system, nothing wrong with patterns of play, there was nothing wrong with how we set up.
"It is the fact that it was executed wrongly. The passing was atrocious, bordering on diabolical.
"Every attack they had, we set them up by giving them the ball and we didn’t work hard enough, we didn’t compete hard enough, we didn’t compete strong enough."
And…
"We will learn from it," he vowed. "We’re not going to hide behind anything, we’re not going to make any excuses, we’re not going to blame anyone.
"We’ll blame ourselves but come back stronger.
"We can’t play well every week and there are going to be times when we have bad performances.
"We’ve got to hope that those bad performances don’t lead to bad results — this was a bad performance that led to a bad result. Hopefully, we won’t have too many more this season."
Now, don’t think for one second that I’m turning on JC or calling for his head or anything like that, because I’m not.
It’s just that we keep hearing the line about ‘bouncing back stronger’ and I’m not really seeing it.
There was no mention here of new blood coming in either, but I think, on this evidence, it is sorely needed.
JC stopped himself just short of saying he was flogging a dead horse with his formation. I don’t think the formation is at all bad, I just think he needs more players to use in it.
Now let’s batter Barnet on Saturday, with our forwards all scoring, and put this nonsense to bed once and for all.
