Return of the Mackie — podcast Friday, 18th Apr 2014 16:35 by LFW Jamie Mackie is the special guest on this week’s Open All R’s Podcast, reflecting on Saturday’s defeat on his return to Loftus Road and elaborating further on the circumstances surrounding his departure. Mackie said: “I think people think I made a decision to leave QPR and it wasn't as straightforward as that. The Championship was somewhere I excelled for QPR before and I felt I could definitely do that again playing for Rangers but the conversations I had with people at the club weren’t going along the same line at the time. “It wasn't something I took lightly at all and it came about through many different reasons. I felt I would have done a great job for QPR in the Championship, that was the decision that was made I felt I needed to guarantee myself first team football. “I think players in their career find a club that matches you. When I went to QPR that was it for me. I'd been away from home for a number of years playing in the West Country and I wanted to get back. I was so happy in my private life, everything was brilliant. It was a club that matched me and I matched them - it kicked off well because I was happy the whole time.” This week’s show is hosted by Paul Finney with regular panellist Chris Charles, LFW regular Mel Huckridge and James Evans.
