That nervous day for every R's fan has arrived.I hope we get another striker soonl because of potential injuries to Aj. but my biggest fear is that we will pick up a 30+ year old player becuase he is one of harrys mates (Jenas) who is injury prone and on high wages!

Maybe hijack the £6.5m Rhodes to Wigan deal.....
If Blackburn are prepared to sell Rhodes, I think we should do all we can to get him in. I'd be seriously fed up to think he could move to Wigan. Better buy than Defoe IMO.

I thought you were supposed to be at work?
I am at the mo but the day is young.
From the BBC:
CHIMBONDA WANTS A CLUB
BBC Sport's Neil Johnston: "Former Tottenham and Wigan full-back Pascal Chimbonda, who was a substitute for France at the 2006 World Cup final, tells me from Paris that he is still looking for a new club.
"The 34-year-old played pre-season games for non-League Market Drayton and Colwyn Bay but is now keeping fit with twice daily gym sessions. He says there have been talks with a club abroad 'but nothing concrete'.
"Chimbonda, who helped Tottenham win the 2008 League Cup, says he is prepared to return to England and would sign for a League Two club 'challenging for promotion'. He says he is not asking for 'huge money'. He is available on a free transfer so he can sign after the 23:00 BST deadline."

Tom Caroll would be a great loan signing. Looks a very lively player.
Defoe - don't get me wrong it'd be great to see him in a QPR shirt and he'd score goals for fun, can't see it happening in a million years however.
Assou-Ekotto - A good footballer but another one that readily admits they don't really like football and it's just a job for him. Given Zamora already, apparently, holds that view I don't think he'd be the right signing. Be a 'triffic' player at this level but motivation would be questionable.
Assou-Ekotto's dislike of professional football isn't about the game itself and doesn't affect his motivation. It's about his dislike of footballers, their lifestyles and their lack of respect for fans. He maintains he always plays as well as he can because he's aware of how much he's earning and how the only consistent thing about clubs are the fans. I wish a few more were as honest as him, as I've never once watched him and thought, 'there's a player going through the motions'.
No chance we'll get him though.

Give it a rest.
How many of Harry's signings have come from Tottenham so far......?
I make it 1.
It was only a throw away remark, but it's still valid unless you want to completely ignore the fact we have also bid for Defoe, Townsend and got to the stage of a medical with Parker at the very least!
Harry's plan is to go for players he knows and has managed before - it's working so far too, but does limit us somewhat if we can't get them in.
