Joe Allen was singing highly the praises of Brendan Rodgers after the Swans secured their place at Wembley

The Swansea City midfielder was one of the heroes of Monday night as the Swans won their way through to the play off final on May 30 where they will now meet Reading.

And he told excited Swans fans that there is more to come for the team under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers as he explained to the Western Mail “It’s good to know from a Swansea point of view that there’s even more to come from him

“Brendan has massive quality as a manager. He’s still young as a manager and achieved so much already.

“From the first day he came here he impressed everyone from the word go.

“His football knowledge and the way he has us playing suits everyone down to a tee.

“We have to be thankful we have him as manager.

“The club knew they wanted to appoint a manager who had us playing the same way as previous managers.

“He’s added that bit more, he’s got experience of working with top players from his time with Chelsea and that’s really helped us.

“He speaks about the experience he’s got from top managers and top coaches.

“Brendan’s shown incredible faith in me,” he added.

“I couldn’t dream I’d play as many games as I have this season, especially with the quality of other players here.

“I’m very grateful I’ve had that chance, it’s a great confidence boost when I head out on that pitch.

“I’d like to think it’s been my best season so far, I was happy not to have as many injuries as last season which was disappointing.

“I definitely feel I’ve grown as a player and, like every other player, I’ve contributed this year.

“I haven’t been to the new Wembley and I’m sure a lot of the supporters haven’t been.

“It’s a fantastic stadium and something we’re looking forward to.

“You always hear ex-players talking about never having the chance to play there so for everyone here it’s a dream come true.

“They were two tough games against Forest so to come out on top and now reach a play-off final at Wembley ... words can’t describe the way everyone’s feeling right now.

“The joy for the fans here and the city is immense.

“The fans on Monday were fantastic from the first minute to the last.”
