The annual released list of players was put out into the public domain today, and Matty Flynn, Owain Fon Williams and Robbie Williams all found themselves heading for the exit doors.

Fon Williams was the biggest surprise of the three, having joined the club from Stockport back in January. After impressing with a loan spell at Gigg Lane, Dale swooped for the County keeper and he remained an ever present for the remainder of the season, winning many a plaudit along the way. 

At one point he chalked up four successive clean sheets - the first keeper to do so for Dale since 2004, and it had been expected by many supporters that he'd be offered a new deal to remain at Spotland. He leaves having played 22 games for the club.

Another Williams to leave the club is Robbie Williams. Like his goalkeeping namesake, he came via Stockport and whilst he had to wait somewhat longer for his first appearance for the club, he also impressed when given the opportunity, and had been tipped for a new deal by supporters.

The least surprising name of the released list was Matty Flynn. The former Macc man has been back up for the first team since arriving at the club at the start of the promotion season. With just the one sub appearance this season, it was widely expected that he'd be leaving the club this summer.
