Eric Lichaj has at least made a more dignified exit from ER than his Villa team-mate Barry Bannan.

Leeds have bid a fond farewell for full-back Eric Lichaj, the USA-born defender has gone back to his parent club Aston Villa.

Whilst on loan at Leeds, Lichaj made 12 starts for Leeds and was generally impressive. His performances and attitude certainly put that of so-called seasoned pro George McCartney to shame - McCartney has thankfully returned to Sunderland, hopefully he made it back on time!

Hopefully Eric will have far fonder memories of his time in West Yorkshire than his team-mate Barry Bannan, who has spent the last couple of weeks moaning about the lack of opportunities he had in the north and cut short his campaign to return to the Birmingham-based underachievers with almost Grella-esque belief that he was going to break into their side presently managed by former Leeds boss Gary McAllister.

Manchester City keeper David Gonzales has also gone back to them as the Leeds clearout begins.
