What I.Saw - "We'll Be Back Next Year"

Millwall "No One Likes Us. We Don't Care" - and to be honest we at Derby didn't care much about the game either.

Or we didn't at least for twenty seven minutes. Up till then it was the proverbial end of a miserable, mediocre, season type of match. The sort of game you skip for more important things such as worming the dog or unblocking the drain that's been slowly getting worse since you went back to your childhood and fancied chips made with beef fat and then had the problem of cleaning the chip pan.

Twenty seven minutes of the Lions supporters being vocal and raising the roof, a credit to their team.

Then, it changes, then comes the vile chants about children and fires and in a moment you realise the veneer is just that, polish. Leopards and spots.

You want them put down. Relegated, it begins to matter, the game means something. Unfortunately we don't look capable, shots are scarce, on target rarer than a good pint of Elgoods.

Will Hughes is kicked time and time again as the referee seems to be on the beach already.

Millwall though look the more likely, they camp in our penalty area, corner after corner. We survive.

Gordon Guthrie now 82 gets a standing ovation in the eighty second minute as he waves from the touch line and finally finally substitute Conor Sammon slides the ball past David Forde and into the Millwall net.

Maybe we can relegate them. We hope.

Fracas in the visitors end, police dogs behind the goal, time ticks away.

Results aren't going the right way "We'll be back next year", the saddest song sung at Pride Park .

End result one nil, Rams tenth, the Lions safe, season done.

Walking back to the railway station peacefully with fans of both sides chatting casually and in good humour, a local Derby youth in a red hoodie and his mates look for a fight.

The picked on Southerner bloke tells him to grow up and behave, a slight scuffle and the hoodie thinks twice. He deserves to be decked to be honest if not for winding the Lion up then surely for wearing Red.

For those following these reports thanks for letting me drivel on over a season.

For the Rams, change has got to come.
